"Our family recently visited Saltwater Farm for the first time. Our only complaint was that our 5 day visit was too short! The house is roomy and comfortably furnished. The location was beautiful - a short walk across a field to the ocean, where even in October the kids enjoyed exploring the rocky shore line. Our evenings were spent playing in the barn - basketball and ping pong equipment were provided, relaxing with a book by the fireplace, or sitting on the deck enjoying the view. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals for our family, and numerous restaurants were just a short drive from the house. Bill and Maggie were wonderful to work with - they responded to our many e-mails promptly. It is evident that Saltwater Farm is well loved not only by the owners, but by the caretakers as well as those who have visited. We look forward to returning and would highly recommend Saltwater Farm."

"This is a lovely, spacious, well designed and constructed home. It is very open and light, with gorgeous views of the Sheepscot River. Weather permitting, it was so enjoyable to have breakfast on the large deck ... or in the evening a perfect spot for a glass of wine! We especially loved the kitchen with its high-end appliances and well equipped cupboards. The master bath is also outstanding with a large double sink counter, separate shower and Jacuzzi tub with a window overlooking the tree tops and river. The lower level has a sitting area, bedroom and bath and its own access to a patio area. My husband and I rented this beautiful home for two weeks and invited two different couples to spend a week with us. Each couple elected to stay in the lower level, which gave them complete privacy. While there were only four of us at any time, there are accommodations for much larger groups. The home is situated in a woods-like setting. It seems secluded, quiet and private, but in reality it is less then 3 miles to Route 1 and the quaint little village of Wiscasset. Wiscasset is home to the famous Reds Eats (awesome lobster rolls), but also don't miss Sarah's and Le Garage."

"This was our second summer with two week stay at this wonderful house. It is such a peaceful, fun place to be. The kitchen is well stocked, as others have mentioned, with staples like salt, sugar, trash bags, paper towels, etc. and plenty of cookware and utensils. Our three kids (16, 12 and 10) loved the first floor space which opens onto the hot tub and has ping pong/pool table and TV. We parents enjoyed the upper level with screened in porch, deck with lake views, bird watching and great spots to eat/relax. The lake is clean, warm and beautiful, the loons are busy there. We really enjoyed the kayaks and canoes, which are in good condition. The kids swam all day, inventing games jumping off the dock. And our dog loved his time swimming in the lake! Neighbors are nice, they brought us a basket of local blueberries while we were there! The house is nice and well maintained, but not fussy, so we felt very relaxed there. We did a few side trips to Camden, Belfast, Freeport and Acadia National park, but really were happiest at the house. Richard the owner is very helpful. We hope to be back again! We love it."
