  • Great Family Vacation

"My Family of six, four children ages 20, 18, 14,10 spent a week at Brigham's Cove Cottage and had a great time. The home is located on the ocean and has great views. My kids enjoyed sitting on the dock and looking and playing in the ocean. The home was clean and well maintained. On a normal day we would eat breakfast at the home and then drive for 20 minutes to Popham Beach State Park. The beach there is great! We would drive back to the house around 3pm to freshen up and then drive about 10 minutes to Bath where there are lots of great places to eat. We drove to Freeport to visit LLbean which was about 45 minutes away. The pictures on the web site are what you get. There is a room with a TV and lots of DVD's which the kids used the one day it rained. The internet wifi was fast in the house. The kitchen was well supplied. My family had a great time and we hope to come again next year."

  • Huge rooms

"14 friends stayed here, utilizing both cottages. We were astounded by the very large bedrooms and beautiful views from our perch right on the water! The cottage never felt crowded and you could always find a spot to make your own. The wrap-around porch was again huge with very comfy furniture and lots of it. I'll always remember our fun filled stay here!"

"Finally.....after 30 years of searching up and down the coast of Maine, we have found the PERFECT cottage! The location is totally private, the ocean views are stunning, the cottage is adorable and fully stocked with everything you need to have a wonderful vacation. Because there are no restaurants with a better view then this cottage, we chose to cook our meals and enjoy every moment of the amazing scenery. Locally you can purchase fresh, just out of the sea, lobsters, clams and haddock. The sunrises are incredible, the sound and scent of the ocean hypnotic. The icing on the cake for me was the wildlife....there were Harbor Seals on the rocks, Sea Ducks on the water, Osprey and Eagles in the air. There are also great hiking trails right from the house that wind through the conifers and a bog. We came home completely renewed and now we can't wait to rent the cottage again next year! A huge thank you to the owners for sharing this gem with us."

  • Location, Location, Location!!!

"The Tides certainly lives up to the description of "breathtaking ocean views." We rented the house for a week with two other couples and every single one of us had the same reaction when we walked out onto the deck for the first time - "WOW!" We all quickly got into the habit of getting up early, grabbing a cup of coffee and heading out to the deck to watch the boats in the little harbor as they came and went, with the cocktail hour spent in the same manner. Throughout the entire week, none of us grew at all tired of just looking out over the perfectly manicured property to the water. At the entrance of the harbor is Andrew Wythe's island (his son, Jamie, evidently lives there now), and the one evening it was foggy the island seemed to appear and disappear repeatedly, a truly memorable sight. The house itself was immaculate, with so many charming personal touches that it felt much more like a real home than a rental property. The owner, Skye Bruce, was very pleasant and helpful. The location itself was perfect - one of our company enjoyed taking a short walk each morning to the Tenants Harbor General Store for the daily papers, several evenings we went next door to the East Wind Inn for a delicious dinner, and also found the Inn a wonderful place for breakfast (the blueberry pancakes are awesome). Thomaston was about 20 minutes away, Rockland about 25 minutes, and Port Clyde less than 15. Port Clyde has a fascinating general store where you can get everything from fresh-off-the-boat live lobsters to pizza, and a lovely gift shop upstairs. The Dip Net restaurant in back of the store was a favorite spot for lunch, and a great ice cream shop is just up the street. We were there early in June, and several of the restaurants that we had wanted to try didn't open until the middle of the month, but two that we would heartily recommend are the Craignair Inn in Spruce Head, which has great charm, and the Harpoon Restaurant between Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde (the bar there is lively, with peanut shells on the floor, and the separate dining room is decorated in a fun, eclectic manner with great food). The one issue which I feel should be mentioned is that the house does consist of several levels, and the stairs are all quite steep and narrow (although the owners have provided sturdy railings), and this could present a problem for anyone having mobility issues. Other than that, I would not only recommend The Tides, but hope to return in the future!"
