  • Third year in a row!

"Well we just completed our 3rd straight September and are looking forward to our 4th at this wonderful location. Nat and Dorothy could not be more gracious to us. We feel as though we are now " locals" as we arrive each Labor Day weekend for a beautiful month of the peace and quiet of Searsport and Penobscot Bay. We spend our winters anticipating our time in Maine. Having dinner on the deck after an afternoon in the pool, walking in the state parks or exploring Belfast, Bar Harbor and Camden. The house is always impeccably clean when we arrive and everything is in top working order. I honestly cannot over emphasize how nice it is for us. We have travels many, many miles in our lives but This is our favorite place to just chill out for a month and enjoy the Bay and the wonderful weather."

  • Exquisite charm with serenity

"My wife and I stayed at this gorgeous vacation home on Columbus Day weekend. It was so wonderful to get away from the hustle and bustle of greater Boston. Chris was warm and easy to work with allowing us to bring our beloved dog Oscar without hesitation. We went for walks along the main road, had breakfast at the cozy little cafe down the road, and attended the local pumpkin festival. The deck is huge with a picturesque view of the gut, we sat and watched the boats come in an out of the harbor with great peace and delight. There was WIFI, parking for 3 cars, 2 spacious bedrooms, blankets, books, board games, and kayaks for use. We basically had all the amenities of a 5-star hotel with the character and charm of this sleepy and nautical vacation home. South Bristol is a hidden gem and a must see and Chris was more than friendly and accommodating. We will be returning very soon."

  • Peaceful

"What a wonderful way to spend downtime with the family. We typically stay pretty busy on vacation and everyone was content to just hang out this time. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the cottage and views. The cottage was homey with the stone fireplace and comfortable furniture. It was great to have the windows open to enjoy the breeze and sounds of the wave. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us (and thanks for the reminder of the bonfire on the rocks). I hope to return in the future."

  • Excellent week in Phippsburg!

"My husband and and I have vacationed in phippsburg many times....from camping at Hermit Island to the Lighthouse at Sebasco Resort. This was the first year we rented a house and we were so glad we did! The house is beautiful, clean, well maintained and stocked. I surprised myself and cooked more than anticipated because the induction cooktop was so much fun. I'm usually kind of skeeved at using dishes, glassware, walking barefoot, etc. in a strange place but this house was so clean, I didn't feel any of that. We had fun paddling around in our rented two person kayak all week. The water is like glass in the morning and evening. There are schools of tiny fish that jump out of the water and with a kayak you can glide right through them! Things that surprised me about the house compared to the website.....it's on a very private road with 3 houses on it. The road is kind of steep but definitely doable. The shower is strange...probably the least desirable feature of the house. Jim says they're thinking of putting in an outdoors shower, which would be great. Nothing like a little outdoor nudity to make a vacation interesting! My suggestion would be to enhance the deck to compliment the beautiful view and make it a nice place to sit in the evening. All in all, would definitely return to this lovely home for another vacation."
