  • Perfect Setting to Relax/Renew/Retreat

"As a single mom, I knew I needed to get away for a weekend while I had the chance. Linda could not have been more responsive via initial email communications nor more accommodating. She quickly responded to each and every question I had. The property is clean and cared for and situated in the most lovely of locations. I spent most of my time just gazing at boats passing by, or at mama ducks teaching their babies to swim in a line. My dog and I took a trip to a nearby pet friendly beach, upon Linda's suggestion, and it too was idyllic and just perfect. Linda makes sure that everything you could possibly need is on hand, including cozy electric blankets for chilly evenings, car passes/decals to park at local beaches/state parks, and even a binder filled with answers to every question you didn't even know you had about the property and the area. I can't wait until my babysitter again offers to take my kids for a whole weekend so I can return!"

  • A True Getaway

"As a busy couple in need of a quiet getaway, Rich and Audrey's cottage in Owl's Head was just right. We were greeted by friendly, welcoming hosts. We awoke to a breathtaking sunrise, (viewable from bed!), did some hiking in beautiful Camden Hills State Park, and enjoyed wine under the stars at the cottage as the water lapped on the shore. The wood stove kept us warm and cozy on cool nights. Don't miss In Good Company, a fantastic Rockland restaurant. Many thanks to Rich & Audrey."

  • Fantastic location and friendly, responsive owner

"Months before I arrived at the cottage, I was really pleased with how responsive Ken was to all my emails and questions. He gladly sent additional photos to me and always responded very quickly to emails. There are two cottages that are identical, but they are far away enough from each other that they're still very private. I'm really picky about this and I was very happy with how secluded the cottage felt! I really enjoyed how surrounded by trees and high above the pond the cottage was — it made me feel like I was up in a treehouse. You can enjoy the glimmering lake while sitting on the deck and never be too hot because there's always a great breeze and abundant shade. The property is beautiful and the pond is perfect for swimming. It was also very quiet with hardly any motor boats when we were there. It was great that a two person kayak and canoe were included, since bringing your own down to the dock would be very difficult. The cottage is in a very private and quiet location (dead end gravel fire road) but still within ten minutes of markets and main roads. The location is phenomenal because of its proximity to the ocean and lots of great restaurants and places to explore. Some recommendations: Savage Oakes Winery - great blueberry wines! Sweetgrass Winery + Distillery - great selection of fruit wines (peach, blueberry, and rhubarb port wines) and incredible view. Great area to drive around and photograph. Rising Tide Co-Op - great for people who like organic and vegan options (they also have awesome freshly baked muffins!) Anchor Inn Restaurant - great grilled seafood and ocean view, plus it's only 15 minutes from the cottage! Primo Restaurant - Worth the drive and it might be the best meal you've ever had. It's definitely a special occasion restaurant because it's not cheap, but it's the ultimate farm to table dining experience there is. They won James Beard Award for best restaurant in New England... can't beat that! Thank you Ken and Becca for sharing your cottage with us!"

  • Wonderful!

"We vacationed for years in the Bath/Brunswick area, so we were a little apprehensive about staying in Tenant’s Harbor. Let me say, we were not disappointed. The house was perfect for our family, very clean and well-maintained. We were able to spread out with room to spare! We spent a lot of time on the screened-in porch which accommodated our entire family (11 of us!). Port Clyde, the neighboring village, is small, but quaint. It is very clean and has a pier with comfortable chairs for relaxing while enjoying the surrounding sights and sounds. Just what you expect a tiny fishing village on the coast of Maine to be. The general store has a lot to offer along with a café, which I hope to try next time. The Dip Net, a seafood restaurant directly on the water, is a great place to spend an evening. The food was great, and you just can’t beat the view! The nearby beach (about a mile away), Drift Inn, is wonderful! It’s perfect for adults and children. When the tide is out, there is a wide stretch of sandy beach. It’s a popular spot for paddle boarding and kayaking. We took the harbor cruise from Port Clyde to Monhegan Island. What a nice experience! The nearest big town, Rockland, has a lot to offer, plenty of convenience with grocery stores, etc. The old part of Rockland, Main Street, is great, with lots of shops and restaurants. We ate at The Pearl one night. It’s right on the water, and the food was amazing! Rockport, Camden and Belfast are also a short drive away. All in all, a great place to stay!"
