"Landings East was absolutely wonderful. Location was great, all you have to do is park your car and walk to everything. The view was even better!! Enjoyed coffee on the large deck every morning and drinks in the evening. The owners Shane & Gene were so hospitable and made our stay one we will never forget. The home was so clean and comfortable and had everything you could ask for. If you want the perfect place to stay for a great price stay at Landings East. Thanks again to Shane and Gene for a vacation we will never forget. We hope to be back next year!"

"We're from the UK and visited Pemaquid Point 4 years ago and fell in love with it. I went straight home and found this cottage online and have been saving it for a special event.
As you can imagine my hopes and expectations were pretty high and I'm very happy to say they were met and exceeded.
Laura was very friendly & efficient from the start, answering all my questions promptly by email and quickly returning our deposit after our stay.
The cottage is in the most perfect location on its own little sandy beach. It faces west so we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets but the sun also appeared quickly in the morning so we had several breakfasts on the deck in the sunshine.
We enjoyed some beautiful weather for late Sept/Early October and enjoyed cocktails on the beach as well as just chilling out & reading on the deck.
When the weather wasn't so kind we just chilled out in the very comfy lounge with the doors open, enjoying the views and listening to the sea.
The garden is a bit of a nature lovers dream. Monarch butterflies visited the asters and we watched loons, cormorants and seals from bed. We were also lucky to see 2 bald eagles flying over the deck. The cottage comes well equipped with wildlife identification books and we made full use of the telescope and binoculars for wildlife and star gazing.
The bedroom has the same fabulous views. We slept with the windows opened and listened to the sea. The bed was very comfortable - I rarely sleep through when we're on holiday but did on this trip.
The kitchen is very well equipped, as is the whole cottage - just those little things like arriving to find loo paper, coffee filters, tea kettle, soap, salt & pepper, washing up liquid, powerful shower, working WiFi make all the difference.
We ate out at King Eiders Pub in Damariscotta a couple of times and Shaws at New Harbour. However we fell in love with the cupboard café, which is a couple of miles away, and their cinnamon buns - we breakfasted there 4 times in one week.
We drove over to Mount Battie at Camden and Marhsall Point Lighthouse ( both about an hour ) and also went to the Botanical Gardens ( 45 minutes ) and Freeport for LL Bean ( 1 hr ) and, of course, the lighthouse and Pemaquid Beach.
We've stayed at many vacation rentals worldwide and this made for one of the best holidays we've had.

"Beautiful cottage nestled in a woodland setting in mid coast Maine.
My husband and I spent 2 1/2 months there and we had a wonderful time!
The house is very comfortable and nicely decorated. Located right in between Belfast and Camden, two quaint and amazingly beautiful towns.
Joe, the owner is very nice and accommodating. Always available when needed.
We had great weather, saw the leaves change color....and we also got to see some snow!
If you're looking for a place to stay while exploring the coast of Maine, this is definitely the place!
We'll go back to Northport one day, and hopefully the cottage will be available.
Thanks for everything Joe!"

"Just got back from our stay at the Weathered Gray Cottage. What a great spot! My wife and I have an eight-month-old baby, so we're beholden to feeding and nap schedules. Serious excursions from the cottage up and down the coast were not an option. That was fine. We enjoyed cooking out and eating at the picnic table, strolling to town with our dog, having a glass of wine or a cup of coffee on the wonderful porch. We lived outside the whole week. I think my posterior wore a groove in the porch rocker. Our golden retriever didn't want to come back to the city. The cottage is not directly on the water but you can see the harbor through breaks in the trees and the yard and porch get plenty of sun when you want it. At night all you hear is the wind in the leaves, the slop of water, and the muffled bong of a bell on a buoy out in the harbor. Perfect. I also appreciated the little touches that made for a pleasant stay—the ceiling fan for keeping things airy, the bookcase full of vacation reads, the kitchen knives that were actually sharp (we cooked a lot), and the comfortable cushions for the deck chairs. On top of all this comfort and convenience, we found the owners responsive and pleasant and the experience to be an excellent value generally. I should also mention that, for a place that accepts dogs and children (like ours), the house was spotless when we arrived. The cottage is smallish and somewhat old-fashioned (small bedrooms, wood paneling, older bathroom). Large parties looking for lots of individual privacy or those looking for ultra-modern, luxe accommodations may be disappointed but they certainly should not feel misled. It's an old cottage. That's the way they were made. The cottage is clean, well maintained, nicely decorated, and reasonably priced. We found it to be better than advertised and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The Weathered Gray Cottage recalled the best parts of our childhood vacations to Cape Cod only it is much better appointed. The location is also a plus. It's a very short drive to Port Clyde and pretty close to Rockland as well. If you go, you MUST try Waterman's Beach Lobster and Dorman's Dairy Dream in Thomaston (both are close and worth traveling to Maine to patronize). I'm recommending the Weathered Gray Cottage to the rest of our family and I think we'll stay there again in the future. Thanks to the owners for a memorable and restorative vacation"
