"The Lodge is a beautiful, peaceful place to vacation. The house has everything that you could want for your pleasure and convenience, from a wonderful kitchen and amazing great room to a screened porch and two docks to launch a kayak or canoe, or just sit and take in the beauty of the lake with its loon, great blue heron, eagle, and shimmering light. We used the travel and trail books in the house to explore the area beyond the lake. The wonderful town of Damariscotta with its great food and book store is minutes away, and there are many trails and hikes nearby to explore the rivers, ponds, and harbors in the region. Where else can you readily kayak on a lake AND walk the coastal shoreline, all within thirty minutes of one another?! We look forward to returning..."

"We were so impressed with this vacation rental. This was our first visit to Maine and we felt right at home immediately upon arrival. The house was well appointed, spotless and amenities were numerous, from the well-stocked spice drawer, the pantry with every piece of cookware you might need, the pancake recipes on the inside of the cabinet, to the game shelves (there's even a playroom on the lower level with lots of toys,) hand soap, toilet paper and kleenex in every bathroom, along with dish soap, dishwasher soap and laundry detergent and fabric softener. The home is spacious and has wonderful views of the Sheepscot River from the deck and the house. There's even a canoe to take out on the river along with the requisite lifevests. The house has been lovingly taken care of. This was a nice mid-point for all the places we wanted to visit along the coast-it was the perfect place to unwind and relax after our days of sightseeing.
Wiscasset is a very picturesque town and Red's Eats was our first stop of the week for Maine Lobster-their Lobster Roll was excellent, but make sure you come very hungry-it is huge! Other notable places to eat and visit: the Sea Salt Cafe in Damariscotta for breakfast, the Clam Shack in Kennebunkport, Jordan Pond House in Acadia National Park(Excellent food, especially the popovers and strawberry jam-reservations are recommended) Pemaquid Point Lighthouse(gorgeous scenery) Ben and Bill's in Bar Harbor for ice cream(they even have lobster ice cream!), the Camden Deli has some yummy blueberry pie. We also went to a clambake on Cabbage Island-it was one of the highlights of our trip and a wonderful way to end the week -you will not leave there hungry! We visited Freeport and shopped at L.L. Bean and checked out Boothbay Harbor. The owner provided some excellent suggestions for places to eat and visit, too-all in all, a memorable vacation!"

"We were at the boat house for the fall colors. The studio was perfect for just the two of us. The view of the harbor was stunning. The walk to town was short and enjoyable. Boothbay is a wonderful town with lovely shops and restaurants. We sailed on the Eastwind on a beautiful day. What a pleasurable vacation spot. Gene was a great host."
