  • Lovely & Secluded!

"First I must mention Karen was a pleasure to work with! She made it very easy to accommodate and book our family vacation. She was wonderful which made booking our vacation hassle-free. The Andrews home on the pond is beautiful! Very clean and very comfortable! The charm and appeal of the home was amazing. The layout/design made it unique to the lake. Love how the master bedroom had its own slider to the wraparound porch. Plenty of room for our family of five. Beds were very comfortable and house was tastefuly decorated. This home is also truly secluded. Very few neighboring homes and the peace and quiet allows you to hear the loons while you relax & de-stress. Our kids swam to the raft everyday except one (rain day). We kayaked and took in the peace and beauty of the pond each morning. We had ping-pong games, played cards and enjoyed the DVD/VHS movies as well. We also roasted hotdogs and made s'mores :-) The trail to the dock was awesome - the bridge over a tiny creek was the same design as the wraparound porch of the home. = very nice. We enjoyed the nature too. The kids were fascinated with the loons. The brochure you had about them on the desk was quite informative. We saw frogs, fish and spiders. Thank you for a wonderful vacation! This home is well-managed, beautiful and a serene place to enjoy!"

  • Perfect for a relaxing Maine vacation!

"We loved the camp and really loved how close it was to town. You don't have to drive forever down bad dirt roads to get there. The pictures don't even do it justice. It is larger and more spacious than it appears in pictures. It is well stocked with games, kitchen essentials, a hair dryer, etc. Everything is neatly organized. There is plenty of space for 2 families and the place has everything you could need! The owners were super nice and helpful. It was pretty clean, I guess if you are looking for the Waldorf, this might not be your spot, but we loved it and would return again in a minute. With that being said, there were only a couple minor inconveniences… The very first Sunday morning we were there I got up before anyone else and imagined a peaceful morning enjoying my coffee on the deck while listening to the loons. At 0730 on Sunday morning, the neighbor started up his astro powered riding lawn mower and began mowing the lawn. Who does that on Sunday morning at 0730?? A holiday weekend, even. It was loud and wicked obnoxious. It reminded me of a something you would see in a Chevy Chase movie. However, not the owners fault. The microwave broke on our third day and we called the owner who promptly sent a repairman. It could not be fixed so we were without a microwave for the rest of the week. The only other little unpleasant thing was 3 or 4 fresh mounds of dog turd on the lawn. We cleaned it up and never looked back. It's honestly a gem. We had a great week and overall would recommend it in a heartbeat!"

  • Worth every penny... and more.

"It's always a crapshoot when you rent a house unseen. 24 previous 5-star ratings was almost too good to be true, but in the absence of any first-hand experience, it was all we had to go on. I am happy to be the 25th 5-star fan, and I'm no pushover. The last place we rented (February vacation in Colorado) got 2 stars out of me. Everything about the house says the owner cares - really cares. Everything was AT LEAST as good as advertised. It was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and impressively stocked. There was nothing that you could need that wasn't there and easy to find. The owner has a spectacular housekeeping service that maintains everything in great order. When was the last time you switched on a lamp containing a 3-way bulb, and all three settings worked? This doesn't even happen in my own house! And yet, every lamp I used had a properly-functioning 3-way bulb. This is superb attention to detail in my opinion. Anne's home was ours. She trusts people enough to put everything 'out there'. Rather than hide things for fear of damage or theft, she provides everything as if she were having her own family stay there. It is all thoroughly clean and orderly, with instructions for everything. Top shelf. This is a find. I will be back many times, I expect, and year-round. I would live there if I had the chance. Anne - you are a gem of a person, with all your personal attention to everything, and your very personable manner in all emails and notes. My best regards to Bob and Peg who care for the place. I believe I will likely never have a rental experience this good ever again - except at the House on the Hill."

  • Wonderful stay in Rangeley ME

"My family spent 5 days at Haley Hideaway in November 2014. Our stay was exceptional. The house was clean, beautiful and there was tons of well-organized information and lots of extras. The view of the lake was gorgeous and relaxing. We could not have asked for a nicer stay - the owner was great about getting back to us and sending us tons of information and help. I would highly recommend this property to anyone."
