  • Perfect spot!

"Our family with small kids spent a week here in July this summer and had an amazing time. The house was large and roomy with AC units upstairs in the bedrooms which was a huge help. Plenty of eating room inside and a beautiful screened in porch outside where we spent most of our time when not on the water. The kids played on the sand beach and on the dock. We were able to rent a boat and keep it on the dock for a few days and that was perfect. The owner was a wonderful sweet man who truly wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay, which we did! We hope to return next summer. His kindness was ample, the house accommodating and the location quiet and relaxing. Kezar Lake at it's finest! Thank you for helping us make wonderful memories for our children."

  • Idyllic stay

"We couldn't have been more pleased with this historic restored boathouse. The peaceful lake is located just off the deck which wraps around the house on three sides. The furnishings are of high quality; the kitchen provides all the equipment you need for a family, and there is a grill outside, a hammock, and many deck chairs for sitting and visiting or watching the calm lake. The captains beds in the upstairs bedrooms are very comfortable, and we heard the loons every evening, and saw them up close each morning in the lake. We felt lucky to stay in this charming, beautiful home, and would return again. Highly recommended."

  • Dad with 2 boys, 4 wheeling and bird hunting Oct 2014

"We have been going to the Eustis area for years and am so thankful that we found this home to stay in. In the past, we have stayed at the Spill Over Motel, which was great. But there is no comparison to having your own kitchen and much more room then a motel. The place is very charming and cozy, we really loved it. My 10 year set up his wild life camera and we have video of deer in the back yard which came out around 10:00 PM. We liked it that we were on a private dirt road, away from the main road, but there were a few neighbors in sight just in case you needed something, which we didn't. The lot is nice and private. I liked the location, since I didn't want to be way out in the woods. The place is spotless; the shower is roomy with plenty of hot water. There is a 'bear' theme throughout, which my kids loved. We fished for just a few hours in Flagstaff lake and used the pier at "Pines Market" which is an easy 5 miles north of the property. My sons caught some good sized togue type fish. You can find most anything you need there at that Pines Market. We did not 4 wheel from the property as we were not familiar with trails from that location; instead we headed to the Jim Pond area, which we knew better. If I were to ski Sugarloaf, I would definitely stay here, as it is, as reported, 6.8 miles from the entrance, which translates into just 6-7 minutes as the road is very good. We saw deer at the end of the road during the early AM hours. We were provided with a crock pot & coffee maker and assorted nice dishes and other cook ware as well as a gas grill, which worked great. There is a restaurant right at the entrance to the camp's road "Choplin House"?, but we did not get to try it. It looked like there was a nice pub in there too. It would be walking distance if the weather was favorable, maybe it is 3/10ths of a mile away. For good pizza and sandwiches head north for about a mile and look for the gas station on the left that looks like they would sell other things besides gas. The camp has wood wide pine floors, tongue and grove pine walls and ceilings and looks really good. During warmer weather there is a cute porch with a little TV. I would highly recommend staying here except if you want to stay the dates I want to go next October, and then please stay at the Spill Over :-). You won’t know what you are missing so we will both be happy. I have rented about 6- 8 times through VRBO and have always had great experiences, like w/ this one."

  • Wonderful Family Vacation Getaway

"The house was everything we could of hoped for. It is extremely spacious, lots of seating for everyone. The downstairs game room was a huge hit with the teenagers and young adults, and my grandkids loved the chalk wall. The deck had plenty of seating and room for the entire family. The grill worked perfectly. If your lucky enough to wake early you will be treated to an amazing sunrise. The sun rises over the mountains on the opposite side of the lake, a perfect way to enjoy your morning coffee. The sandy beach was fabulous, my grandkids loved it. Fishing was good, though we did not explore the entire lake. Some boat traffic, but nothing that was annoying. Shopping was close, so no long drives to get groceries, main street is quaint with some interesting stores. The house was extremely clean and had all the appliances you needed. Overall we had an absolutely amazing time and I would recommend this house to anyone."
