"We really enjoyed staying at this cottage. The location was wonderful, away from town and at the quiet end of the lake. There is a sandy beach we walked to in addition to using the sandy beach in front of the cottage
The sandy beach in front of the cottage was perfect for the younger ones. They could use the stairs and play in the shallow water. We could sit in the furnished lawn chairs while the children safely played.
The dock was perfect for the boat we rented from Long Lake Marina. We rented a pontoon boat with tubing equipment. They delivered to the public boat launch. Everyone was very busy with tubing, kayaking and canoeing.
Mornings were very peaceful. We ate breakfast on the deck overlooking the serene water. At night we listened to the loons. A bald eagle swooped down and caught a fish right in front of us. Warblers were singing in the area at the end of the lake, near enough to walk around this area. The sunset was beautiful.
Inside we had all the amenities we needed. The internet worked great for all those who couldn't break away from their electronic devise. The kitchen was nicely furnished so we were able to prepare the limited meals we chose to serve. The fire pit was great for s'mores.
The cottage was clean and everything was in working order. The only suggestion would be for a way to rent linens and towels instead of having to carry these items on airplanes.
One day we went to Storyland in NH. Another outing was to Pie Tree Orchard for Maine maple syrup and fruit picking, but the rest of the time was spent on the lake. We did make a trip to the Gazebo for ice cream daily. Hiking and geocaching in the area were a nice change of pace for those who wanted to do something away from the water.
The owner sent emails with all necessary information, making it easy for us to know what to do and expect. The nearby property manager was friendly and unobtrusive.
Overall, this was a wonderful experience. We hope to return in the future."

"Plenty of room was made for our 20 ft trailer and 3 snowmobiles in the driveway. Though we had a really cold week and a break down with our sleds, it was great to come back to such a nice and comfortable home after and be able to have a meal without going out. The house was stocked with all the primary items, so we didn't have to go to the store on the day of our arrival. Sattleback was very close for skiing and everyone was super nice. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us."

"My husband and I have stayed in this beautifully maintained house many times over the last few years. We've enjoyed weekends with our children and have even had a few family reunion vacations. Even when we've stayed with two or three other families, the house never seems crowded. Lots of space! The kids love the loft, love going on morning walks looking for the moose that sometimes makes an appearance and playing all the games at night that Carol keeps at the house. We also love the fact that although you feel like you are privately deep in the woods, it's very close to quaint gift shops, antique shops and sits right at the bottom of the mountain. My husband has gone ice fishing in winter as well! We simply love going up to Carol's house Winter or Summer!!!!"

"This house was gorgeous inside and out- it had fantastic views from the floor-to-ceiling windows on the mountain facing side (including the two-story living room), and a stunning breakfast bar (likely made from a tree from the property, though I'm not sure on that one!). The rooms were all good-sized and most had their own temperature control so everyone could stay comfortable, and the three full bathrooms were useful for large groups. We had stunning views of the foliage, and I can imagine it being gorgeous in the winter or summer as well!
Our group of 9 adults was very comfortable, and I think another one or two could have stayed without anyone needing a top bunk; for families with teens or children, 13 would be comfortable.
The owner was accommodating and responsive to work with on our stay.
The only cons/things to be aware of: the walls were on the thin side so conversations carry pretty well through the house - we turned our fan on so it took a lot of noise to bother us, though! Also, 4WD is recommended in the winter but the driveway is pretty steep - those of us with manual transmissions got the trick down pretty quickly of hitting the driveway in second gear to make it up all the way, but I would drive an automatic if you can!
Overall, we had an awesome, fun stay, and thought the house was better than the wedding venue :-)"
