  • Very impressed

"We host a trip to Sunday River every year for 6 to 8 couples and this house was the most comfortable house we have rented and best for hosting. We were thrilled to find the kitchen well equipped with modern appliances and every kitchen utensil we could need. The living room area was comfortable and had a large television, great for watching the game. The game room is fun and inviting. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. The "dorm" room on the fourth floor was more comfortable that we thought it would be. Some of the beds are around corners that offer some privacy which our guests enjoyed. The location was private but close to the mountain and restaurants. The hot tub was easy to use, and very necessary after a day on the slopes. The owners were very friendly and attentive and able to answer all of our questions in a timely fashion. I would recommend this house to a large group, or a large family with kids or teenagers."

  • Quiet Retreat for the Whole Family

"Both the description and photos were spot on and the home was immaculate. The owner was very friendly and prompt with answers to any questions we had. Helpful information and brochures were also available. The lake was a short walk down the road where we found kayaks, canoe, and tubes and noodles to float on. In addition to swimming, fishing, and playing in the lake, we also took a drive to Scarborough Beach and Portland, both within a one hour drive. Trickey Pond is absolutely beautiful and a great place to spend some quality time with the family. Whether we chose to sit on the porch, lay in the hammock, or enjoy all of the things to do down at the lake, there was something for everyone."

  • Just the wedding they wanted.

"I'm not sure I can find the words to describe my first reaction to Mountain House, I had seen photos but they had not prepared me for how stunning this property really is. Anyone looking for a beautiful outdoor setting for a wedding, family reunion, or any other occasion where you might need to put up a number of people I would without hesitation recommend this venue. It is obvious by how beautifully kept the grounds are, to to the cleanliness of the homes themselves that Julie and Frank pride themselves on maintaining a first rate establishment. I wish everyone the same wonderful experience that my family had!"

  • Such a luxurious and relaxing getaway

"The Barn House was the perfect spot for a bunch of 30-something nerds to get together for a long weekend and celebrate an upcoming wedding by cooking amazing meals, playing tabletop games, lounging in the hot tub, and enjoying a keg of excellent craft beer. Everything was just as advertised, and the kitchen was incredibly well-appointed. The only thing I would do differently next time would be to order the keg from the liquor store in town since they do delivery/installation -- we had to put in the keg ourselves, which required some quick internet research and trial & error but ultimately worked out fine."
