"Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful vacation home. Whether kayaking on serine Saturday Pond, occupying a rainy day doing puzzles on the dining room table, or using it as a home base for travels up the coast, this wonderful home met and surpassed all of our expectations."

  • Our Happy Place

"We've rented on Thompson Lake for nearly a decade. This was our first summer in this house, and we feel like we've finally found our summer home. We look forward to returning for many years to come. We found the house was in pristine condition when we arrived. The owner's personal commitment to the home is evident in large and small ways, from the well built tasteful home, to the providing of great sheets, towels, beach towels and PFD's. The master-bedroom suite including bedroom, bathroom, two closets and direct access by way of a sliding door to the screened in porch is phenomenal. The upstairs jack and jill bedrooms and bathroom are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen/great room area is large and accommodating with every amenity a person may need down to the cozy fleece blanket to cover you while you nap on the couch. The kitchen and grill are terrific. We ate in more this vacation than we ever have before -- bringing in steamed clams and lobsters from the Naples Lobster Pound on Route 302 in nearby Naples, taking advantage of the grill, and even baking homemade blueberry and raspberry pies with just-picked-by-us berries from Goss Berry Farm in nearby Mechanic Falls. The home is well suited for a couple looking for a relaxing blissful week on Thompson Lake to get away from it all, and equally well suited for hosting a family looking for Maine-lake fun and adventure. Thompson Lake is a jewel, and the property's location is ideal for swimming, sailing, kayaking/canoeing, motor boating or just sitting on the dock watching the loons go by -- and we did it all! Go see Guy at Thompson Lake Marina to rent a speed boat for tubing and water skiing or to rent a pontoon boat for a more relaxing tour of the lake. Call Mike and Mo at Sebago Sailing to rent a Sunfish sailboat for your stay. Mike will bring the Sunfish to the property and there is a mooring for the sailboat right by the swim float. Use the property's kayaks and canoe. Or just float in the lake. The owners are a pleasure to deal with -- responsive, caring and considerate, and interested in you enjoying their home and having a great vacation. We look forward to returning in 2015, 2016, 2017 ..."

  • Perfect getaway

"I brought my husband here as a surprise for his 40th birthday. His eyes POPPED when we drove up. The house is so gorgeous, smells like a cedar chest, and is so relaxing! We did a quick grocery run at the local store in Bethel (about 15 minutes away) but there was spices, coffee filters, olive oil, etc at the cabin. We enjoyed our coffees on the porch each morning and soaked in the sun in the afternoons. We ventured out a few times to eat. I would recommend pizza at "Home Slice Pizza" (VERY GOOD) and the gelato at "DiCocoa's" (If you are a vegetarian, get a little of everything to eat....no kidding. That's what I did!) Scott sent instructions for a hiking trail off of the road, but we never ended up finding it (we bushwhacked most of the time. hahaha). We took the kayaks out another day and were the only ones on the lake. There was a full moon one night and sitting on the deck, listening to the loons, with the full moon shining...pure magic. Although the point was to unplug and get away, my husband was able to watch the patriots game (although the remote didn't work, we figured it out through the tv)"

  • Such a luxurious and relaxing getaway

"The Barn House was the perfect spot for a bunch of 30-something nerds to get together for a long weekend and celebrate an upcoming wedding by cooking amazing meals, playing tabletop games, lounging in the hot tub, and enjoying a keg of excellent craft beer. Everything was just as advertised, and the kitchen was incredibly well-appointed. The only thing I would do differently next time would be to order the keg from the liquor store in town since they do delivery/installation -- we had to put in the keg ourselves, which required some quick internet research and trial & error but ultimately worked out fine."

Rangeley Lake Travel Tips

Experience Four Seasons in Rangely Lake Rentals

Enjoy a unique escape during each of the four seasons in Rangely Lake rentals for your next family vacation. Here, you’ll find opportunities to explore the outdoors, take part in local celebrations, or simply relax while visiting the scenic western Maine landscapes.

Choose Rangely Lake Rentals for Spring Escapes

Fishing and bird-watching are two of the most popular activities while staying in Rangely Lake cottages in the spring months. This is also the time the local moose population starts to explore, and can typically be seen in the wilderness surrounding Maine lake rentals.

Reserve Rangely Lake Cottages for the Outdoor Sportsmen

Summer and fall bring the ideal times to hike, mountain bike and canoe while staying in Rangely Lake rentals. Groups may enjoy a day on the golf course or tennis court, or even a week of hunting in the cooler months. Stay in Rangely Lake cottages and enjoy easy access to any one of these activities, or sit back and relax while the colors change around you. Maine lake rentals are known for some of the most beautiful and scenic areas to be during the change of seasons.

Learn a New Winter Sport in Maine Lake Rentals

Wintertime always brings plenty of snow to Rangely Lake rentals and the resort areas in the surrounding mountains are ideal for skiing, snowboarding and snow shoeing. Rent snowmobiles and spend hours on the trails connecting Rangely Lake cottages with the Interstate Trail System found throughout the area and leading to New Hampshire and Canada. The Saddleback area offers ski lessons for all skill levels, which is a great idea for anyone if it’s been a while since your last trip down the side of a mountain. Resort accommodations and Maine lake rentals allow you to simply relax and enjoy the scenic and quiet mountains at the end of an active day in the snow, too.
