"We stayed for the full month of May. Hearing the loons and kayaking with them was awesome! The cabin has everything you could need. Everyone was very friendly, including Mike & Stephanie. They are the go to couple for the cabin and provided friendly great help whenever we needed it. Even allowed me to put my kayak in on Locke Pond so I could paddle out to the beaver dams."Guest: Deb S. Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: June 5, 2014View listing
"Very nice, clean and comfortable. Lots of room and has everything you might need. Probably a 10 min drive to Sunday River. I was little hesitant due to owner being in another country, but it was not a problem. Kate and Chris were responded to any questions right away. I would stay here again."Guest: Mountain Mike Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 26, 2014View listing
"We saw the lighthouse cottage online, and thought it looked great. Our expectations were more than met. Renting on an island was very fun. We decided it was like being at a very friendly Camping type resort, but with great homes. This home had everything we could want. There were 5/6 adults at various times, and 2 small children, and we all had plenty of room. The kitchen is well stocked with anything needed, plus a huge hightop table and chairs that allowed many nights of late night game playing. The view is wonderful from the deck and the house. The owers were very nice and extremely helpful. They stopped by for a quick welcome hello and gave us many island tips. Frye Island is like a hidden treasure. The little restaurant- Fyre's Leap is a seriously delicious eat in/take out restaurant...we enjoyed anything we ordered there. The stairs at the house looked like a bit of a problem at first for our 2.5 year old granddaughter's safety- but a few well placed gates took care of that. There is something about an island that is so charming and fun, and this house added just the right amount of luxury to the fun. We would rent again in a minute when we decide on Maine."Guest: Pattie M. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 2, 2014View listing
"Our family of four (parents plus two young daughters) just returned from this property a couple of weeks ago and we give it eight thumbs up! Actually twelve thumbs up as we had two visitors while we were up there. We couldn’t have had a more perfect vacation. The property came just as advertised. We’ve rented properties all over Lake Sebago and nearby lakes the last five years and before that lakes in NH and VT. This is definitely one of the top rental properties in terms of the physical aspects – sandy beach on a clear, fresh-water lake, child/toddler-friendly landscaping, a clean and well-equipped house (bedding and towels must be supplied by guests) large enough to accommodate our family and visiting friends and relatives. But what really makes this place special is the people (and dog!). The owners, George and Bobbi, live next door and they were the most attentive and generous “landlords” we’ve ever had the pleasure to deal with (from the moment we contacted them via this website to the time we got our deposit check back). Just as a small example, at one point my wife needed a sieve for cooking as our kitchen, which was otherwise well equipped, did not have one. She asked George if they had one to borrow. George came by next day with one. He never even mentioned it, but it was clearly bought new just for us. He could have just said he didn’t have one and that would have been the end of it, but he went out of his way to get it for us. We also very much enjoyed his grown up children and their children. Sharing the beach may be a put off for some, but the property and certainly the lake are large enough to accommodate all. In fact, our seven year old got along fabulously with one of the grandchildren. On this vacation we never heard the oft complaint from past years -- “Dad, there’s nothing to do!” (other than swimming, building sand castles, going on canoe rides, catching critters and fish, roasting marshmellows, etc., etc. – all of which we did). Having a friendly golden retriever also was a huge hit with our children. We will definitely return."Guest: David Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 5, 2014View listing
