  • Dad with 2 boys, 4 wheeling and bird hunting Oct 2014

"We have been going to the Eustis area for years and am so thankful that we found this home to stay in. In the past, we have stayed at the Spill Over Motel, which was great. But there is no comparison to having your own kitchen and much more room then a motel. The place is very charming and cozy, we really loved it. My 10 year set up his wild life camera and we have video of deer in the back yard which came out around 10:00 PM. We liked it that we were on a private dirt road, away from the main road, but there were a few neighbors in sight just in case you needed something, which we didn't. The lot is nice and private. I liked the location, since I didn't want to be way out in the woods. The place is spotless; the shower is roomy with plenty of hot water. There is a 'bear' theme throughout, which my kids loved. We fished for just a few hours in Flagstaff lake and used the pier at "Pines Market" which is an easy 5 miles north of the property. My sons caught some good sized togue type fish. You can find most anything you need there at that Pines Market. We did not 4 wheel from the property as we were not familiar with trails from that location; instead we headed to the Jim Pond area, which we knew better. If I were to ski Sugarloaf, I would definitely stay here, as it is, as reported, 6.8 miles from the entrance, which translates into just 6-7 minutes as the road is very good. We saw deer at the end of the road during the early AM hours. We were provided with a crock pot & coffee maker and assorted nice dishes and other cook ware as well as a gas grill, which worked great. There is a restaurant right at the entrance to the camp's road "Choplin House"?, but we did not get to try it. It looked like there was a nice pub in there too. It would be walking distance if the weather was favorable, maybe it is 3/10ths of a mile away. For good pizza and sandwiches head north for about a mile and look for the gas station on the left that looks like they would sell other things besides gas. The camp has wood wide pine floors, tongue and grove pine walls and ceilings and looks really good. During warmer weather there is a cute porch with a little TV. I would highly recommend staying here except if you want to stay the dates I want to go next October, and then please stay at the Spill Over :-). You won’t know what you are missing so we will both be happy. I have rented about 6- 8 times through VRBO and have always had great experiences, like w/ this one."

  • A really nice place to stay near Kezar

"I really enjoyed the quiet, off the beaten track location that was still close enough to Kezar. The condo was well equipped and comfortable. A good place to stay for a family who likes to hike. Even though it did not have a view the little deck looks out on the woods and there was no one else around. Nice and private and quiet."

  • Great week at the Shire

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Rangely Lake at the "Shire." The cabin is adorable and comfortable, right on the lake. Jeannine and Bob made us feel welcome. It was great to have a canoe and kayaks available as well as outdoor grill and table. Swimming was too cold for me, but my husband loved it. There is a lot to do in the Rangely area on the lakes and in the mountains and streams (great fly fishing). Good restaurants, a theater and shopping, too."

  • Dreams fulfilled.

"The intoxicating beauty of Saturday Pond hung in the air like a theatre curtain. The trees made a rustling sound as they swayed in the soft wind next to our cabin. The lakes loons made a high warbling sound, almost as a celebration for the lake itself and our arrival. Our neighbors were as cheerful and respectful as any prayer would request. One could say I am in love with this pond…and yes I must confess to all that I am head over heels in love! But to ignore our host Jim & Elaine in this equation and evaluation would be a travesty. I have rented and leased cabins and homes across America and the globe in some nutty pursuit of the perfect vacation. Let me honestly state that this couple exceeded my high bar of expectations and firmly concerted the standard all others should be measured by. The cabin was immaculate, the lake…well you know that… their professionalism and hospitality was an art form in itself. Jim is my kind a gentleman: Honest, pathologically hardworking and a never taking himself seriously. Ellen is the type of lady you endorse as a friend before she speaks a word. Her intelligence, eloquence and focus go hand and hand. We left Saturday Pond and this Vacation rental with great sadness as Adam & Eve certainly must have felt when they left the Garden of Eden. In fact we did see a friendly snake on the dock just below our cabin…but our temptation to return was in our heart long before the snake appeared. I would like to recommend this place to others. But my selflessness in keeping my Eden to my family remains within."
