  • Perfect getaway

"I brought my husband here as a surprise for his 40th birthday. His eyes POPPED when we drove up. The house is so gorgeous, smells like a cedar chest, and is so relaxing! We did a quick grocery run at the local store in Bethel (about 15 minutes away) but there was spices, coffee filters, olive oil, etc at the cabin. We enjoyed our coffees on the porch each morning and soaked in the sun in the afternoons. We ventured out a few times to eat. I would recommend pizza at "Home Slice Pizza" (VERY GOOD) and the gelato at "DiCocoa's" (If you are a vegetarian, get a little of everything to eat....no kidding. That's what I did!) Scott sent instructions for a hiking trail off of the road, but we never ended up finding it (we bushwhacked most of the time. hahaha). We took the kayaks out another day and were the only ones on the lake. There was a full moon one night and sitting on the deck, listening to the loons, with the full moon shining...pure magic. Although the point was to unplug and get away, my husband was able to watch the patriots game (although the remote didn't work, we figured it out through the tv)"

  • Gorgeous house and stunning views!

"This house was gorgeous inside and out- it had fantastic views from the floor-to-ceiling windows on the mountain facing side (including the two-story living room), and a stunning breakfast bar (likely made from a tree from the property, though I'm not sure on that one!). The rooms were all good-sized and most had their own temperature control so everyone could stay comfortable, and the three full bathrooms were useful for large groups. We had stunning views of the foliage, and I can imagine it being gorgeous in the winter or summer as well! Our group of 9 adults was very comfortable, and I think another one or two could have stayed without anyone needing a top bunk; for families with teens or children, 13 would be comfortable. The owner was accommodating and responsive to work with on our stay. The only cons/things to be aware of: the walls were on the thin side so conversations carry pretty well through the house - we turned our fan on so it took a lot of noise to bother us, though! Also, 4WD is recommended in the winter but the driveway is pretty steep - those of us with manual transmissions got the trick down pretty quickly of hitting the driveway in second gear to make it up all the way, but I would drive an automatic if you can! Overall, we had an awesome, fun stay, and thought the house was better than the wedding venue :-)"

  • Bryant Pond House

"We really enjoyed our long weekend at this house in Bryant Pond. The house is just on lake Christopher( I brleive that is it's name). It is a quiet time of year but did not se like a busy , crowded lake at all. The house itself is lively, with comfortable rooms of varying architectural dates. The views from two if the bedrooms are toward the lake which was lovely with the mist in their bing. Y husband woke to say he wished he had brought the pruning pole saw as the view us becoming obscured by large branches!! The kitchen us well stocked with necessary equipment fir all sorts if cooking or baking which my daughter and I especially liked. We would definitely consider a longer stay in the future."

  • Very impressed

"We host a trip to Sunday River every year for 6 to 8 couples and this house was the most comfortable house we have rented and best for hosting. We were thrilled to find the kitchen well equipped with modern appliances and every kitchen utensil we could need. The living room area was comfortable and had a large television, great for watching the game. The game room is fun and inviting. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. The "dorm" room on the fourth floor was more comfortable that we thought it would be. Some of the beds are around corners that offer some privacy which our guests enjoyed. The location was private but close to the mountain and restaurants. The hot tub was easy to use, and very necessary after a day on the slopes. The owners were very friendly and attentive and able to answer all of our questions in a timely fashion. I would recommend this house to a large group, or a large family with kids or teenagers."

Sunday River Travel Tips

Sunday River Rentals Are Where Adventures Abound for All

Choose to visit Maine with your family vacation this year, and a trip to Sunday River is in order. Sunday River rentals are located in the midst of one of the most popular resort areas in all of New England, offering plenty of activities that all will enjoy during your stay.

Reserve Sunday River Rentals to Experience Western Maine

Warmer months will allow your family to rent canoes or kayaks and enjoy a lazy trip down the Androscoggin River. See the natural surroundings from the water, and bring your camera to catch the moose near Sunday River cottages. Tours are also available that will pick you up at your Maine lake rentals and guide you for an afternoon or entire day of fun.

Enjoy a Chairlift Ride during Your Stay in Sunday River Cottages

A great activity while staying in Sunday River rentals is to take the kids on a chairlift ride high above the mountains. The Perfect Turn Express travels up the North Peak, offering a breathtaking view of the Mahoosuc Mountains--one you simply won’t find on the ground near Sunday River cottages. For an entire day of active exploration, ride the chairlift to the top of the mountain and plan to hike one of the trails down the other side before retiring to your Maine lake rentals.

Tour Local Mines While Staying in Maine Lake Rentals

The area surrounding Sunday River rentals boasts a rich history in mining, providing a wonderful learning opportunity for visitors. Take a tour of one of the local mines and learn about how different ores and gems are found and harvested near Sunday River cottages. Stop at a gift shop and find a special memento to remember your day, and take plenty of pictures of these massive operations during your time away from Maine lake rentals.
