  • Such a luxurious and relaxing getaway

"The Barn House was the perfect spot for a bunch of 30-something nerds to get together for a long weekend and celebrate an upcoming wedding by cooking amazing meals, playing tabletop games, lounging in the hot tub, and enjoying a keg of excellent craft beer. Everything was just as advertised, and the kitchen was incredibly well-appointed. The only thing I would do differently next time would be to order the keg from the liquor store in town since they do delivery/installation -- we had to put in the keg ourselves, which required some quick internet research and trial & error but ultimately worked out fine."

  • a little bit of heaven

"words can not express how wonderful the house on the hill was for our winter in Maine. A real home with high end linens, furniture and full stocked kitchen. Anne does not skimp on anything. I rented this home sight unseen for the winter and I was amazed with the high quality and cleanliness of the house. It is a house with all the special touches you want when sneaking away. Not to mention the very special and king people that take a hand in helping with the House on the Hill like Peg/Bob and Ben the plow man. This home is exceptional in all ways. Our walks on Howard pond and easy trips to the Sunday River Mountain and Gould Academy to visit my children made my weekends there just perfect and exactly what I was looking for in a winter rental. Anne has a little piece of heaven there for sure! I hope to enjoy it during the summer months as I feel it was a 10+ in the quiet of winter. Thank you so much to all at the House on the Hill for sharing and making it such a very special winter for my family and myself!"

  • Superb Vacation House, Enjoyed with Lifelong Friends in Picturesque Mountain Setting

"I stayed in early May with eight other grown adult men (mostly lifelong friends) to celebrate my best friend's upcoming wedding. We aren't your typical "bachelor party animals" so we wanted to rent a nice house with many amenities and a close proximity to hiking locations. The Bingham House, right off of Sunday River and overlooking a pristine golf course and vast, picturesque mountain landscape, had it all. Besides grocery trips to the very closeby town center, a couple hiking trips and some bike rides, we actually found ourselves staying at the house the majority of the weekend! We thoroughly enjoyed the pool table, the hot tub, the firepit, the two gas grills (although one was a little finnicky), the expansive kitchen (which provided the chefs of our group ample space and all the necessary cooking items, utensils, dishes and ingredients), the coffeemaker and coffee, the big fridge to hold all of our food and ale, the Pac Man in the game room, the Netflix, and the poker table! Like I said, it wasn't missing much! The only trouble we ran into was the Wifi, but Gretchen answered my text within 20 minutes and helped us fix the issue. She was accomodating and helpful from the start of the rental process, and made herself very available the entirety of our stay. We walked down to the pool but it was a bit too cold out even though we hit 80 degrees the day we left. We were just so delighted at the unlimited options we had at our fingertips at the wonderfully-kept Bingham House. We will surely be back."

  • You don't even need to leave the premises!

"Several friends and I rented The Glen House for a long weekend and didn't even need to leave the premises the entire time. From the amazing views, to the two hot tubs and steam rooms, to the mini movie theatre, to the gourmet kitchen, to the fire pit... it goes on and on. We had an excellent time and would do it again, no question. Thank you for a great stay!"
