"I've visited this house with my own family and with friends' families multiple times over many years. Every time we enjoy the small cottage feeling on the lake no matter what time of the year. As a kid, the bunk beds were the best part and always what I looked forward to, although the paddle boat my be a close winner. Now as a young adult, I look forward to the homey feeling sitting around the fire (outdoor or indoor!) at night sipping hot chocolate and enjoying the serenity of Maine. The owner always makes this an easy getaway and has the house in great condition and clean when we arrive."

"This home was very comfortable and full of character! My boyfriend and I rented it for a few days while skiing and had a fantastic time. Sunday River is only about 15 mins away and Mt Abrahams is less than 10 mins away. The lake in the backyard was perfect for cross country skiing. The fireplace was really fantastic and overall the home was cozy and warm. We definitely found everything we needed there-the kitchen was fully stocked and the beds were quite comfortable. The owner was always quick to respond-we'd definitely stay here again."

"We watched the Video Tour of the property and were sold-- this was the place for us! We rented both houses for our family and the accommodations were spectacular. We hiked Bald Mountain, caught fish, saw two moose in the pond and enjoyed the best vacation ever. There were row boats and canoes and a big yellow diving float to swim from and bath in the sun and the view of mountains all around. At night we sat by the water around a camp fire listening to all the night sounds. Our only complaint-- a week just wasn't long enough..."

"I brought my husband here as a surprise for his 40th birthday. His eyes POPPED when we drove up. The house is so gorgeous, smells like a cedar chest, and is so relaxing! We did a quick grocery run at the local store in Bethel (about 15 minutes away) but there was spices, coffee filters, olive oil, etc at the cabin. We enjoyed our coffees on the porch each morning and soaked in the sun in the afternoons. We ventured out a few times to eat. I would recommend pizza at "Home Slice Pizza" (VERY GOOD) and the gelato at "DiCocoa's" (If you are a vegetarian, get a little of everything to eat....no kidding. That's what I did!)
Scott sent instructions for a hiking trail off of the road, but we never ended up finding it (we bushwhacked most of the time. hahaha). We took the kayaks out another day and were the only ones on the lake. There was a full moon one night and sitting on the deck, listening to the loons, with the full moon shining...pure magic.
Although the point was to unplug and get away, my husband was able to watch the patriots game (although the remote didn't work, we figured it out through the tv)"
