  • Comfortable welcoming cabin in the woods.

"We had a great ski week with our three college age sons with lots of fun making fires & playing board games. Cabin is well equipped with everything you need to be comfortable. With DHL it also kept our children "connected." Close to town and support services like snow plowing provided which insured getting to mountain to ski after a foot of snow. We really enjoyed New Year's fireworks at Sunday River. Cabin is well maintained with good heating system as well as a great fireplace with stocked woodshed. The cabin is located at the top of a steep hill (mountain road) and was a bit challenging to climb in the ice the first night but was fine for the rest of our stay. Made wonderful memories and had a nice stay at "The Cabin.""

  • Perfect getaway

"I brought my husband here as a surprise for his 40th birthday. His eyes POPPED when we drove up. The house is so gorgeous, smells like a cedar chest, and is so relaxing! We did a quick grocery run at the local store in Bethel (about 15 minutes away) but there was spices, coffee filters, olive oil, etc at the cabin. We enjoyed our coffees on the porch each morning and soaked in the sun in the afternoons. We ventured out a few times to eat. I would recommend pizza at "Home Slice Pizza" (VERY GOOD) and the gelato at "DiCocoa's" (If you are a vegetarian, get a little of everything to eat....no kidding. That's what I did!) Scott sent instructions for a hiking trail off of the road, but we never ended up finding it (we bushwhacked most of the time. hahaha). We took the kayaks out another day and were the only ones on the lake. There was a full moon one night and sitting on the deck, listening to the loons, with the full moon shining...pure magic. Although the point was to unplug and get away, my husband was able to watch the patriots game (although the remote didn't work, we figured it out through the tv)"

  • Great place for families on a quiet pond. Serene setting with a nice sandy beach at water's edge.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Papoose Pond. The home was comfortable and well-stocked. We really had everything we needed; from comfy beds to a small sailing dinghy & canoe. Blueberry & raspberry picking along the road was so fun! We had a great time exploring the pond in the canoe, and the surrounding area on bicycles. Water was perfect for small kids, shallow water with a sandy area for playing. Owners were helpful and responsive to questions/problems. They called to check in the first afternoon we were in the house to make sure we were finding what we needed. We had a small plumbing problem while we were there and it was fixed within the day by their local caretakers. We happened to be in town while the 'Waterford World's Fair' was going on about 10 minutes away, the kids loved it! We had ten people in the house for two of the nights we stayed there, and it accommodated everyone very well. We'd definitely stay there again."

  • Perfect summer weekend getaway!

"My husband and I went with a few friends to Bethel for the 4th of July weekend getaway this year! The house is amazing and comfortably slept our 8 guests. We loved the screened in porch and the large kitchen table that would seat everyone for dinners and game night! The house was super-clean and had all of the amenities we needed. It's walking distance to the cute town center as well as several bars and restaurants. Sunday River is a short drive and they had a lot of fun summer activities! We loved it there and would go back in a heartbeat!"
