Perfect Family Reunion Spot
"This was our second time renting the Glen House for our family of 17. It has something for everyone and then some. Since there is so much to do at the Glen House, we only left the property once to go on one of the recommended hikes to a swimming area in a river. The House has a beautiful swimming pool, play area with tree house and a bouncy house for the tots, a theater with loads of DVDs and popcorn (included), a sauna, an indoor and outdoor hot tub, pool table, chess and other games and much more. The views and sunsets are lovely from the deck, as you gather around the fire pit at night. The owners have included so many little things to make a stay comfortable such as unlimited coffee, 2 washers and dryers, plenty of towels and linens, spices and many kitchen condiments. It is a great place to relax and reunite with family or friends"

"The house was perfect for our weekend gathering. This house is perfect for entertaining. The yard is a good size for yard games, the bar is a perfect place for a drink, it fits a lot of people comfortably, and the speakers will get the music flowing through the house. Our group all had a blast, we golfed at a nearby course and checked out some local restaurants. Joanne gave us great details on the house so we were very prepared when we arrived. We had a couple small hiccups figuring out some of the devices but that's expected in a new place with a different set up than what you're used to. Overall, we were really happy with our decision to stay here and would definitely recommend it to all who are interested."

"This house was gorgeous inside and out- it had fantastic views from the floor-to-ceiling windows on the mountain facing side (including the two-story living room), and a stunning breakfast bar (likely made from a tree from the property, though I'm not sure on that one!). The rooms were all good-sized and most had their own temperature control so everyone could stay comfortable, and the three full bathrooms were useful for large groups. We had stunning views of the foliage, and I can imagine it being gorgeous in the winter or summer as well!
Our group of 9 adults was very comfortable, and I think another one or two could have stayed without anyone needing a top bunk; for families with teens or children, 13 would be comfortable.
The owner was accommodating and responsive to work with on our stay.
The only cons/things to be aware of: the walls were on the thin side so conversations carry pretty well through the house - we turned our fan on so it took a lot of noise to bother us, though! Also, 4WD is recommended in the winter but the driveway is pretty steep - those of us with manual transmissions got the trick down pretty quickly of hitting the driveway in second gear to make it up all the way, but I would drive an automatic if you can!
Overall, we had an awesome, fun stay, and thought the house was better than the wedding venue :-)"

"words can not express how wonderful the house on the hill was for our winter in Maine. A real home with high end linens, furniture and full stocked kitchen. Anne does not skimp on anything. I rented this home sight unseen for the winter and I was amazed with the high quality and cleanliness of the house. It is a house with all the special touches you want when sneaking away. Not to mention the very special and king people that take a hand in helping with the House on the Hill like Peg/Bob and Ben the plow man. This home is exceptional in all ways.
Our walks on Howard pond and easy trips to the Sunday River Mountain and Gould Academy to visit my children made my weekends there just perfect and exactly what I was looking for in a winter rental. Anne has a little piece of heaven there for sure! I hope to enjoy it during the summer months as I feel it was a 10+ in the quiet of winter. Thank you so much to all at the House on the Hill for sharing and making it such a very special winter for my family and myself!"
