  • Roomy and quiet

"Nice, very clean, roomy and updated. Owner was very helpful with some small concerns we had. Quiet location and the coast is a little over an hour's drive...well worth the trip. Coast and light houses are exceptional."

  • Loved this rustic but updated lodge! Very Private!

"About 25 years ago we rented a small camp on Shag pond and loved the pond and especially the waterfalls at the outlet. At the time my sister and I were taking a walk and noticed Camp Mollocket and commented on what a neat place it would be to rent and too bad that it appeared to be abandoned and in need of repair. So now that our family vacation has grown to include 3 generations, 6 households, and one dog, I was excited to have the opportunity to rent the camp, and we were not disappointed. The first thing new I noticed driving in were the wind mills. Living in Maine I have heard a lot of the pros and cons and my first thoughts were of excitement that I get the chance of being close to them and how elegant and peaceful they looked. These feelings stayed with me through the week. Even when we could hear the windmills they were really no louder than if a plane were passing overhead. I will admit I, too, was a bit disappointed that the rain had made the beach so wet for the kids to play on, however they soon discovered the positive side ( and the frogs) and spent hours down there catching them and putting them into their mud castle. As for the camp itself, we couldn’t have been happier. Every household had its private sleeping area with the family room dedicated as the kids room. This is the first camp we have had where we had the use of a dishwasher, washer and dryer, and the extra chest freezer. All of which are a bonus when you have that many people trying to get away for a week. The main floor of the camp is very roomy and with the large living room and the wrap around porch each having a large table there was plenty of room not only for eating but for lots of cards, games, puzzles, and arts and crafts. The screened porch was very much appreciated on the rainy days as we were still able to sit and enjoy the outside, the pond, and hear the loons, kingfishers, and other birds. The caretaker, Dick, was a big help when a storm triggered a circuit breaker. He was there the next morning to reset it. The only disappointment was in the fishing. While the little fisher people had plenty to catch, the bigger ones had no luck. However, they are making plans to check out other nearby ponds. We want to thank the Wiersmas for renovating this beautiful rustic camp, keeping its grandeur in tack while making it very user friendly; and most of all for opening it up for renting and allowing us to share this special place. We are hoping to return next year."

  • Peace and quiet watching the loons and the eagles!

"My husband and I needed a quiet retreat for five nights at the end of August, and we certainly found it here on Crescent Lake in the this cabin. How we enjoyed listening and watching the loon activity. We also saw the two adult eagles squawking and fighting over a fish they had caught, and we took a canoe ride down the lake to see their huge nest. The cabin is just what we were looking for; "campy", but having everything we required for our stay. Kitchen is very well supplied, and the gas grill on the deck was great. How we enjoyed going down to the dock at night to see the stars! This was such a relaxing stay. The fresh flowers that were put in the cabin and at the table on the deck were an extra special touch! Privacy was very much appreciated. We hope to be back again next year. It was just what we needed."

  • Shagg Pond Maine Getaway

"Let me start by saying the houses were awesome! I found it hard to believe that I could have found a place that could accommodate all of us and couldn't believe my luck when I spotted this listing on vrbo. When we arrived I finally believed that the pictures and the description were true! We rented both houses. You won't want to leave the property during your stay. Canoeing, hiking, fishing and loon and moose watching were everyday activities. Campfires by the pond, swimming at the raft, I could go on.... Great family get away, I miss it already...."
