  • Great week at the Shire

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Rangely Lake at the "Shire." The cabin is adorable and comfortable, right on the lake. Jeannine and Bob made us feel welcome. It was great to have a canoe and kayaks available as well as outdoor grill and table. Swimming was too cold for me, but my husband loved it. There is a lot to do in the Rangely area on the lakes and in the mountains and streams (great fly fishing). Good restaurants, a theater and shopping, too."

  • Perfect getaway

"I brought my husband here as a surprise for his 40th birthday. His eyes POPPED when we drove up. The house is so gorgeous, smells like a cedar chest, and is so relaxing! We did a quick grocery run at the local store in Bethel (about 15 minutes away) but there was spices, coffee filters, olive oil, etc at the cabin. We enjoyed our coffees on the porch each morning and soaked in the sun in the afternoons. We ventured out a few times to eat. I would recommend pizza at "Home Slice Pizza" (VERY GOOD) and the gelato at "DiCocoa's" (If you are a vegetarian, get a little of everything to eat....no kidding. That's what I did!) Scott sent instructions for a hiking trail off of the road, but we never ended up finding it (we bushwhacked most of the time. hahaha). We took the kayaks out another day and were the only ones on the lake. There was a full moon one night and sitting on the deck, listening to the loons, with the full moon shining...pure magic. Although the point was to unplug and get away, my husband was able to watch the patriots game (although the remote didn't work, we figured it out through the tv)"

  • Great Spot for Vacation

"We were extremely happy with the rental. We just loved how peaceful this vacation was. We had never rented a cottage previously during our vacations. This was so much more enjoyable than renting hotel rooms. The property is beautiful and well maintained. There are plenty of local attractions within a 20 minute drive. After this experience I am sure we will be renting a cottage on our next vacation. Quality time with the family without feeling crowded just made the trip so much better. I highly recommend this property. Thanks for such a great week!"

  • Clean and Spacious Home

"We were a group of 9 adults and 3 kids who stayed in this beautiful home over the last weekend. The house was clean and well appointed. Kitchen pantry was stocked with all essentials. Bathrooms were neat and tidy with plenty of towels for use. Everyone enjoyed sitting beside the fireplace in the living room. The living room was spacious enough to accomodate all of us. We totally loved the pool table. Betsy, the owner is a pleasure to work with. She promptly answered all our queries and also sent us a list of restaurants around the area. She even warned us about the snow accumulation in the area. So there were no surprises as such. We are thinking of going again in summer."
