  • Perfect getaway

"I brought my husband here as a surprise for his 40th birthday. His eyes POPPED when we drove up. The house is so gorgeous, smells like a cedar chest, and is so relaxing! We did a quick grocery run at the local store in Bethel (about 15 minutes away) but there was spices, coffee filters, olive oil, etc at the cabin. We enjoyed our coffees on the porch each morning and soaked in the sun in the afternoons. We ventured out a few times to eat. I would recommend pizza at "Home Slice Pizza" (VERY GOOD) and the gelato at "DiCocoa's" (If you are a vegetarian, get a little of everything to eat....no kidding. That's what I did!) Scott sent instructions for a hiking trail off of the road, but we never ended up finding it (we bushwhacked most of the time. hahaha). We took the kayaks out another day and were the only ones on the lake. There was a full moon one night and sitting on the deck, listening to the loons, with the full moon shining...pure magic. Although the point was to unplug and get away, my husband was able to watch the patriots game (although the remote didn't work, we figured it out through the tv)"

  • Sebago summer vacation 2014

"Our family has been vacationing on Sebago lake since 1990, and we have looked at and stayed at many different properties. Over the past few years, our needs have changed and we now require a bigger place that can support 10-12 people, and a dock to support a 24 foot boat. Anytime you go to a place for the first itme, you never know how it will compare to the listing photos and information. When we arrived at this property, we were very pleasantly surprised. The photos on line actually didn't do it justice. This place was amazing. It is only a couple year's old and is well laid out ot support the 12 people we had there all week. It was very clean and well maintained. All the bedrooms were very spacious and the beds very comfortable. And the Master Suite....what a spectacular view!!. The linens and bath towels were provided which made the ladies very happy!! The main floor has a wide open design that accomdated all 12 of us for dinner and nightime games. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, cooking utensils you will ever need. The dock supported my 24 foot boat and jet ski. The property is located by the Dingley Islands which provided calmer waters than other places we have rented on the main lake. One amenity this palce provided that I have yet to see elswhere is the fire pit by the water. Many locations don't allow open fires. We had one going everynight. This is definitley one of the nicer places we've stayed on Sebago lake and we would highly reccomnend it to anyone. Just call the owners; they were very helpful. Just don't take our week for next year cause we're coming back. As far as nearby restaurants, our favorite by far is Bob's Seafood in Windham. We ordered lobster one night and ate there two other times. If you like beer, Braye's Brewing Company in Naples will hit the spot. If you have a boat, I highly recommend Fry Island Cafe.. their Patriot drink is the best and goes well with chips and salsa. And for desert; Mosquito's icecream can't be beat! As far as other attractions, with a place like this and an open lake in front of you, why go anywhere else!!!! We relaxed on the dock, swam, canoed, water skied, wake boarded, knee boarded, went tubing and floated around on noodles... Can't wait till next year!!!"

  • Connect With Nature at Mollocket

"Camp Mollocket is a place to be in nature. I’m lulled to sleep by the bullfrogs and wake to the loons. A ‘Maine Day’ is blue sky, sunshine, and white clouds. I sit on the little beach, read or sketch, and observe a dragon fly resting on my hand. The big kids can swim, go boating or fishing, and the little kids can wade in the shallow water, catch tadpoles and dig in the sand. It is a great place to hike to a rocky waterfall, pick blueberries, or climb Bald Mountain and view mountains and ponds for miles. Camp Mollocket is rustic but has everything one needs. It provides the comforts of home for a vacation in the Maine woods. Family and friends connect for a board game in the great room, picnic on the screened porch, warm up in front of the fireplace, or roast marshmallows outside at the fire pit. This is a place where you make your own fun . . . and the memories to nourish you until you can come back again."
