  • Absolutely Fantastic!

"This was by far the best place we have ever stayed on vacation. The house was beautiful and the view even better. Everything that we could have possibly needed was already at the house so that made cooking a breeze. Just pick up groceries and your good to go. We will definitely be back! Thank you again!"

  • Wonderful Family Holiday

"Great place to stay. We were welcomed with beautiful freshly cut and arranged flowers in the rooms. Wood supplied free of charge for the evening fire pit . Fresh breezes from the sea and a wonderful place to relax."

  • The Perfect Spot

"We stayed here in August for a week around a wedding celebration and couldn't have asked for a more ideal house or location. While we live only a short ferry ride away, we felt like we were vacationing in a different world. The house is perfectly located just a 1/2 mile from the ferry in a quiet neighborhood. We didn't bring a car, but just rode bikes back and forth to the "downtown". Our 9 and 12 year old boys loved heading out on biking adventures by themselves which we felt comfortable with, given the slow island traffic. The house itself is a truly charming historic cottage with built-ins and lovely pine floors. It was exceptionally clean and the kitchen was well stocked with all manner of utensils & pans. We spent a lot of time playing games on the wrap around deck with great ocean views. We arrived at the house in the dark and the next morning, upon seeing the sparkling light-filled interior and porch, our nine year old announced "I love this house". The boys found a rope swing near the ferry which they loved and we spent time running an biking around the island, building cairns on the nearby beach, and dining at the Peaks Island Inn. The owners could not have been more accommodating from the welcoming note and bubbles for the kids, to a very organized notebook of each appliance in the house and local attractions. We'll be back, thank you so much!"

  • Wonderful house in the best location!

"If you're debating on what house to rent in Maine...stop, this is it. We were 6 adults on vacation from NYC and this fit our needs perfectly. The house is huge! and has everything you could hope for. The porches alone are worth the stay, but you can also grab the deck chairs and sit by the ocean which is right there!!! We loved the back patio with the big picnic table with a grill. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and Jane who was lovely to work with and answered all my questions. Bailey island is so cute and quaint and if you do stay here I recommend all things baked from the Salt Cod Cafe which is just 3 min down the road. A blueberry muffin with butter and a cup of coffee sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean is euphoric."

Portland & Casco Bay Travel Tips

Portland Vacation Rentals for a Year-Round Tourist Destination

As a year-round tourist location, it’s hard to beat Portland and Casco Bay in Maine. Portland vacation rentals are ideally placed for this culturally and historically rich area. Day and night, the bustling Portland harbor is buzzing with activity, with tourist boats coming and going, fishermen at work and restaurants filled with people. Choose a Casco Bay lodging choice near the harbor to be in the middle of the action. You will find a Maine lodging choice to suit any family or group of friends looking for a vacation in this scenic area.

Portland Vacation Rentals in the Largest of Maine’s Cities

Portland is the largest of Maine’s cities and it is the hub of its renowned art community. Thus, Portland vacation rentals are in one of the most sought-after locations in the region. Dating from the 1800s, the Old Port is now a high-class shopping area with a wide variety of restaurants around your Casco Bay lodging choice. The city takes its heritage seriously and buildings around your Maine lodging choice are maintained to an exceptionally high standard.

Casco Bay Lodging for Ferries and Hot Air Balloons

A benefit to Portland vacation rentals is their proximity to the ferries to Nova Scotia. It’s worth jumping a ferry to head off to Casco Bay’s Calendar Islands for a great day out. The adventurous traveler in a Casco Bay lodging choice might prefer to undertake a slightly more unusual mode of travel and opt for a hot air balloon trip as a novel way to see the region. Staying in Maine lodging, you will wonder how many times you will have to return before you’ve seen it all!

Maine Lodging For Culture for Kids

For the culturally minded, there are so many museums and so much history here that you will struggle to fit it all in within just one vacation. Portland vacation rentals cater for the culturally minded children too with their own museum. From Casco Bay lodging you will find an amazing variety of walks and excursions to be undertaken. While staying in a Maine lodging, there is also the chance to see the Portland Pirates play hockey or the Sea Dogs if baseball is your game.
