  • Best Fit for Our Family

"This is our 7th year bringing my Mom (now 94) up to Maine to reunion with many in our family. The area is close to our relatives but would be worth traveling to anyway. This is the 3rd time we have rented Camp Card Cove and it gets better each time. We chose 2 weeks in Sept. to avoid the summer crowds. The weather was unseasonably cool but beautiful, and we caught the beginning of the color change. There is a downstairs bedroom with step in shower that is perfect for mom, and 2 upstairs bedrooms plus a seperate apartment with 2 twins,a bunk bed and bathroom that is quite private that my nieces family stayed in. We found the next door neighbor is a Lobstaman and they delivered 40 pounds of Lobsta and some crabs right to our dock via skiff at a good price. We feasted for 3 days. Our hosts are wonderful people and offered us the use of kayaks and a canoe, which really made the visit all that more enjoyable. The huge lawn facing the cove is ideal for soccer and other family games. We are only about 15 minutes from good shopping in Cooks Corners ( Super Walmart, etc.) so it is easy living there. This place is hard to beat. We'll be back again for sure"

  • Adorable and Quaint

"I rented this house with some friends for a wedding weekend on Peaks Island the first weekend in October. It was perfect and just what we were looking for in an island cottage. We were able to walk to the beach and also the wedding reception which was at the Trefethen Evergreen Association. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and quick to respond to questions. Thank you!"

  • Great View!

"My Fiance and I recently stayed at the Talbot Cottage. I is a wonderful rustic cottage overlooking a bay/river. Over the course of an hour you can watch the tide change as it rises or falls several feet. At night you can sit on the deck and see all the stars, or enjoy the outdoor fire pit. Or cozy up to the indoor fireplace. The cottage is ideally located between the towns of Freeport, where there are several outlets, and Portland. If we have the opportunity we would love to go back and visit the Talbot Cottage again. Give it a try. I think you'll like it."

  • This is the place to stay !!!

"This is the place to stay!! South Portland and the Willard Beach neighborhood in particular is quite a unique area with Scoops Ice Cream, a bagel shop, and several locally owned very good restaurants within walking distance (or very short driving distance). This cottage is clean and is beautifully situated on the property of the owner allowing views of the bay and Willard Beach and the islands of Casco Bay. I am so happy I found this cottage. I had a fabulous week there, exploring all up and down the Maine coast (from Kennebunkport to Camden), island hopping off the coast of Portland, discovering lighthouses along the way, visiting interesting towns, and enjoying scenic drives (especially Routes 1 and 88 going north from Portland to Camden, then south through Cape Elizabeth to Old Orchard Beach and Kennebunkport) ~ stay off the toll highway...take the scenic routes -- lots to do and see in the whole area and this beach cottage at Willard Beach is great to have as a home port during your stay. The owner provides you with a list of interesting things to do and good places to eat. There is plenty to see and do in a week's time and still have time to kick back and relax, walking on the beach, or just enjoying watching the boats in the bay from the front porch of the cottage. The cottage is very convenient to Portland without having to be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Portland all the time (Portland is very touristy and can get pretty crowded with traffic along the wharf, but it doesn't take long to figure out how to get around and where to park when there are things you want to do there - like riding the Casco Bay Ferry to do some sight seeing and island hopping or taking a Windjammer sailing cruise). Be sure you have your camera ... there are lots of photo opportunities waiting to be taken !!"

Portland & Casco Bay Travel Tips

Portland Vacation Rentals for a Year-Round Tourist Destination

As a year-round tourist location, it’s hard to beat Portland and Casco Bay in Maine. Portland vacation rentals are ideally placed for this culturally and historically rich area. Day and night, the bustling Portland harbor is buzzing with activity, with tourist boats coming and going, fishermen at work and restaurants filled with people. Choose a Casco Bay lodging choice near the harbor to be in the middle of the action. You will find a Maine lodging choice to suit any family or group of friends looking for a vacation in this scenic area.

Portland Vacation Rentals in the Largest of Maine’s Cities

Portland is the largest of Maine’s cities and it is the hub of its renowned art community. Thus, Portland vacation rentals are in one of the most sought-after locations in the region. Dating from the 1800s, the Old Port is now a high-class shopping area with a wide variety of restaurants around your Casco Bay lodging choice. The city takes its heritage seriously and buildings around your Maine lodging choice are maintained to an exceptionally high standard.

Casco Bay Lodging for Ferries and Hot Air Balloons

A benefit to Portland vacation rentals is their proximity to the ferries to Nova Scotia. It’s worth jumping a ferry to head off to Casco Bay’s Calendar Islands for a great day out. The adventurous traveler in a Casco Bay lodging choice might prefer to undertake a slightly more unusual mode of travel and opt for a hot air balloon trip as a novel way to see the region. Staying in Maine lodging, you will wonder how many times you will have to return before you’ve seen it all!

Maine Lodging For Culture for Kids

For the culturally minded, there are so many museums and so much history here that you will struggle to fit it all in within just one vacation. Portland vacation rentals cater for the culturally minded children too with their own museum. From Casco Bay lodging you will find an amazing variety of walks and excursions to be undertaken. While staying in a Maine lodging, there is also the chance to see the Portland Pirates play hockey or the Sea Dogs if baseball is your game.
