  • 8/16-8/23/2014 Fabulous week at Camp Card Cove!

"Karen & John, my family and I are so happy that we discovered your beautiful home on Camp Card Cove. The house was perfect for our group, 6 adults 2 children ages 9 & 12 and two dogs! Well equipped, spacious and very comfortable! Location is great if you like to be active or simply sit back and take in the beautiful view with a book, or both! Haprswell is a low key Maine town, which was perfect for us! Definitely recommend the local trails for some nice hiking, "The Cliff Trail" has amazing views and is a bit challenging, be sure to have pets on a leash and children in hand as you approach the cliff, it's worth the hike to the top! Also, another local favorite was our sail on the 70' Schooner Alert, our Captain's Bethany and Perry gave us a fabulous sail and even welcomed our dogs aboard, amazing! Kayaking and canoeing right off the dock is awesome, had some great workouts paddling back to the house as the winds picked up! There fire pit is awesome, we had a few nights of enjoying time by the fire and taking in the beautiful star filled skies, watching for shooting stars and roasting marshmallows! Loved every minute of this trip. We will be back. Thanks again Karen and John, a wonderful time was had by all."

  • Large family vacation

"I recently rented this house with my family (2 babies, 4 kids, 13 adults) as a weekend getaway - the house accommodated all of us. The house was THAT roomy. The description was more than accurate - when the owner says it sleeps 18, it really comfortably sleeps 18. House is fully equipped with everything you'd need for a vacation away from home, yet feel like you're right at home. House was also very well kept - clean and well-maintained. Spacious front yard for kids to play. My nieces/nephews also enjoyed the nearby beach. Yes, the house has a campy feeling to it- but that's not always a bad thing. My family hung out by the common room (basically in front of the fireplace) and it did not feel congested at all. We all had enough space to do what we wanted to do. Only downside to this rental were the bathrooms - they were a bit outdated. However, given the campy vibe this house gives off, they weren't terrible. Also, you can hear everything in this house - but again, it adds to the campy vibe. The owner was very accommodating - answered all questions I had - before and during the stay. That was very much appreciated. Highly recommend this house for family getaways - especially big family reunions. My family enjoyed our stay and hope others will as well. Thanks for a great stay Terry!"

  • Perfect in every way!

"I would highly recommend this charming cottage to family and friends. The decor is fun, the view is spectacular and the screened in porch is delightful! The kitchen is very well stocked and the house is beautifully kept. We would stay there again in a minute!"

  • Idyllic setting indeed

"We spent 3 weeks at this lovely home and it was one of the most serene settings we have ever experienced. The location could not be more beautiful and the peace & quiet is incomparable. The people in the small community it is located in were very friendly and to watch the local lobstermen was fascinating. Being very close to Brunswick with all of its restaurants and Bowdoin College influence is another big bonus. Our family, friends and dogs had a tremendous vacation here with all the relaxation or activity one would choose. This is the quintessential Maine vacation - pines, rocky coast, beautiful inlets and peace and quiet. A very well maintained property and spacious house with owner and caretaker eager to make sure the guests were happy."

Portland & Casco Bay Travel Tips

Portland Vacation Rentals for a Year-Round Tourist Destination

As a year-round tourist location, it’s hard to beat Portland and Casco Bay in Maine. Portland vacation rentals are ideally placed for this culturally and historically rich area. Day and night, the bustling Portland harbor is buzzing with activity, with tourist boats coming and going, fishermen at work and restaurants filled with people. Choose a Casco Bay lodging choice near the harbor to be in the middle of the action. You will find a Maine lodging choice to suit any family or group of friends looking for a vacation in this scenic area.

Portland Vacation Rentals in the Largest of Maine’s Cities

Portland is the largest of Maine’s cities and it is the hub of its renowned art community. Thus, Portland vacation rentals are in one of the most sought-after locations in the region. Dating from the 1800s, the Old Port is now a high-class shopping area with a wide variety of restaurants around your Casco Bay lodging choice. The city takes its heritage seriously and buildings around your Maine lodging choice are maintained to an exceptionally high standard.

Casco Bay Lodging for Ferries and Hot Air Balloons

A benefit to Portland vacation rentals is their proximity to the ferries to Nova Scotia. It’s worth jumping a ferry to head off to Casco Bay’s Calendar Islands for a great day out. The adventurous traveler in a Casco Bay lodging choice might prefer to undertake a slightly more unusual mode of travel and opt for a hot air balloon trip as a novel way to see the region. Staying in Maine lodging, you will wonder how many times you will have to return before you’ve seen it all!

Maine Lodging For Culture for Kids

For the culturally minded, there are so many museums and so much history here that you will struggle to fit it all in within just one vacation. Portland vacation rentals cater for the culturally minded children too with their own museum. From Casco Bay lodging you will find an amazing variety of walks and excursions to be undertaken. While staying in a Maine lodging, there is also the chance to see the Portland Pirates play hockey or the Sea Dogs if baseball is your game.
