  • Gem by the Ocean!

"Our stay at the Potts Point cottage ranks as our favorite in Maine, as we have made annual visits to Brunswick over the last 25 years. The bungalow exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed a comfortable stay complete with picture perfect views of the harbor and walks along the shoreline at low tide with Margaret's dog Lucy. The hospitality afforded to us by Margaret and her daughter Beth made us feel like part of the family. We highly recommend this gem by the ocean to anyone planning a visit to the area. We are already making plans for our next visit."

  • Great Stay, Dog Friendly

"I'm just finishing up a lovely stay at Litch's Place. I've stayed in a lot of house rentals over the years, and this is definitely one of the nicest. The house is either new, or newly remodeled, it is in fantastic shape. The decor is very tasteful, it has everything you might need and is very pet friendly. I usually travel with my dog, and I've noticed that a lot of places say they're pet friendly, but they're really more pet tolerant. First thing I saw when we came in was a clean water dish on the floor, just waiting to be filled, so I knew this was a welcoming place. The house is kind of ridiculously clean (wish mine were as nice), the beds are comfy, there is a large yard for the dog to explore and it's very quiet. I had a minor problem during my stay (smoke alarm issue) and Marcia had it fixed immediately. She provides a very useful binder full of local information. Portland it an easy 20 minute drive away. Really, you can't do better in this area."

  • Wonderful house in the best location!

"If you're debating on what house to rent in Maine...stop, this is it. We were 6 adults on vacation from NYC and this fit our needs perfectly. The house is huge! and has everything you could hope for. The porches alone are worth the stay, but you can also grab the deck chairs and sit by the ocean which is right there!!! We loved the back patio with the big picnic table with a grill. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and Jane who was lovely to work with and answered all my questions. Bailey island is so cute and quaint and if you do stay here I recommend all things baked from the Salt Cod Cafe which is just 3 min down the road. A blueberry muffin with butter and a cup of coffee sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean is euphoric."

  • Beautiful Place

"Our stay at Schooner Landing was amazing. The house was more than advertised. The location spectacular and so very peaceful. We took in most of what Harpswell had to offer - excellent seafood at Cook's, Erica's, The Dolphin; trip to Ash Cove Pottery, the Cribstone Bridge, Land's End and more plus some adventures in Freeport and Portland. We loved it all. Thanks for offering your home to us."

Portland & Casco Bay Travel Tips

Portland Vacation Rentals for a Year-Round Tourist Destination

As a year-round tourist location, it’s hard to beat Portland and Casco Bay in Maine. Portland vacation rentals are ideally placed for this culturally and historically rich area. Day and night, the bustling Portland harbor is buzzing with activity, with tourist boats coming and going, fishermen at work and restaurants filled with people. Choose a Casco Bay lodging choice near the harbor to be in the middle of the action. You will find a Maine lodging choice to suit any family or group of friends looking for a vacation in this scenic area.

Portland Vacation Rentals in the Largest of Maine’s Cities

Portland is the largest of Maine’s cities and it is the hub of its renowned art community. Thus, Portland vacation rentals are in one of the most sought-after locations in the region. Dating from the 1800s, the Old Port is now a high-class shopping area with a wide variety of restaurants around your Casco Bay lodging choice. The city takes its heritage seriously and buildings around your Maine lodging choice are maintained to an exceptionally high standard.

Casco Bay Lodging for Ferries and Hot Air Balloons

A benefit to Portland vacation rentals is their proximity to the ferries to Nova Scotia. It’s worth jumping a ferry to head off to Casco Bay’s Calendar Islands for a great day out. The adventurous traveler in a Casco Bay lodging choice might prefer to undertake a slightly more unusual mode of travel and opt for a hot air balloon trip as a novel way to see the region. Staying in Maine lodging, you will wonder how many times you will have to return before you’ve seen it all!

Maine Lodging For Culture for Kids

For the culturally minded, there are so many museums and so much history here that you will struggle to fit it all in within just one vacation. Portland vacation rentals cater for the culturally minded children too with their own museum. From Casco Bay lodging you will find an amazing variety of walks and excursions to be undertaken. While staying in a Maine lodging, there is also the chance to see the Portland Pirates play hockey or the Sea Dogs if baseball is your game.
