  • Paradise!

"This home is a little piece of paradise! Tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable with plenty of room but what really made it standout was the views from all sides of the house, which is perched on a peninsula. Water, water everywhere from every window! The location is great - easy access to Brunswick's great shops, restaurants and galleries and pretty close to the Freeport outlets and other interesting Maine coast towns. The house itself has great flow for both relaxing and entertaining. On a chilly night, we sat around the cozy fireplace. There's also a screened porch where we had cocktails and dinner while gazing at the sunset. And there's even a dock for boating and swimming! The owner has thought of everything: fluffy towels, luxurious bed linens, a fully equipped kitchen -- all which helped make our stay extremely enjoyable. Would love to return this summer!"

  • Quiet getaway for two

"If you're looking for the real Maine, the Maine that's not the T-shirt-and-trickets tourist atmosphere of Camden, Boothbay, and Bar Harbor, the Maine of friendly people, fresh-off-the-boat seafood, bracing hikes, gorgeous scenery, quiet waterfront mornings and evenings, go to Harpswell. And if you are two, stay in this cozy cottage on Quahog Cove off Harpswell Island Road. Within driving distance to all the ordinary sites -- we had lattes in Camden, bought art in Brunswick, visited the Wyeth collection in Rockland, toured Boothbay's old neighborhoods -- "Cozy" is perfect for an intimate week for two. The cottage is well appointed: the bed is comfortable, the little porch is perfect for a 5:00 wine (or two), the bathroom is more than we expected for so small a cottage, the dock is inviting, and sunrise over the cove was worth the price in itself. Even in mid-October, the cottage was toasty and comfy. Additional and unexpected: a French press coffee maker, a huge closet, a huge shower, a fully furnished kitchen, and lobstermen who work their traps practically in your front yard every morning. And John and Karen had fresh flowers awaiting us. The cottage was spotless and well maintained. After two days, it felt like home. A delightful week away."

  • Great getaway

"Enjoyed the privacy! Tucked away but allowing you quick access to being downtown in minutes. Great place for taking a stroll to either the beach to sit on the rocks or down a country road. We were there for a wedding with not a lot of down time, but did enjoy the location when time allowed."

  • Lovely, restful cottage on the water

"Rented in August, 2014...lovely spot, easy access, parking and very comfortable. Beautiful views from inside and out. Youth regatta at the next-door yacht club was entertaining. The only cons were the tiny shower (my slim, athletic 10-year-old mentioned it straightaway) and half of the burners on the stove didn't work - we cook. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting the owners as everything was done with key codes, but they were very easy to work with. We would come back."
