"My husband and I rented this house for a week with our 9 year old. We were very pleased with the house and the amenities - it is very clean and bathrooms/kitchen appear to be new. The house had ample linens and kitchen supplies for our needs. If you enjoy watching TV, there are new flat screens in all rooms.
The house is 1.6 miles from the lighthouse at Ft. William Park and there is a off road path that you can take from the house to the park. We walked or rode our bikes there daily. There is a nice beach at that park as well (make sure you can carry out garbage as there are no cans at the park). The house is also not too far from downtown Portland and Old Port.
The views from the house are incredible, beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Our 9 year old had fun climbing on the rocks near the house and looking for crabs.
We would recommend the house especially if you're looking for and enjoy being that close to the water."

"The cottage was charming and the pictures don't do it justice. It has been beautifully remodeled, and decorated. The location is fabulous! Just a short walk to Higgins Beach. I've made many trips to the Portland area over the last 40 years and this may be my new favorite place. So much to see and do nearby....we went to an adorable lobster shack on Blackpoint road and ordered steamed lobsters to go! We would definately return to the cottage!"

"My husband and I rented this wonderful 4 bedroom home for a family vacation with our sons and grandchildren. The house is fully furnished with everything you would need to cook or simply play a board game. There are closets galore. There is a stacked washer and dryer that is very small and does require some planning on checkout day to wash the towels, but it's not insurmountable. We had a great time."

"We had an amazing stay at this house! It had all the amenities we needed and even our 2 year old enjoyed herself the whole time. We hit up the beach every day, and walked to get ice cream almost every night. Besides being close to Crescent Beach, it was also a short drive to Two Lights and Fort Williams Park (and the Bite into Maine food truck- best lobster rolls ever!) Driving into Portland was a breeze too, so whether you want the quiet of the ocean or the food and shopping of the city, this house is in the perfect location!
The only slight issue we had was the strong smell of moth balls when we got there. Open windows and moving the box of moth balls quickly cleared the smell."
