"My family and I recently visited this gorgeous home for a long weekend in September for a family wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful, the views are breathtaking, and the private location lends itself to a peaceful retreat and getaway. The property has its own beach that is gorgeous and is great for wading and exploring at low tide. This was our first experience on Homeaway and the experience was wonderful. The homeowner was a delight to work with and I look forward to rebooking this home for another visit very soon."

  • Perfect Birthday Spot!

"What an amazing spot on the water in a lovely, quiet community with cordial neighbors. The home has a wonderful, friendly feel, and easily housed six of us for a few overnights, with room for two more had they been able to sleep over with us. The great room is large with many comfortable seating options; none of us was fighting over a best spot, since every seat was the best. Generously-sized windows overlook the water, permitting views from every corner, and giving a sense of being outside even when it's drizzling and we preferred to remain indoors. Sunday night, after a lovely hike at Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park (located on the peninsula across the water from the cottage), we returned to the deck for a toast and dinner; it was the perfect ending to a grand weekend of celebrating the 50th of one of our party. Thank you for sharing your home with us!"

  • Felt like home away from home

"The pictures do no justice in how awesome this cottage is. The cottage felt like home. The dock is just steps away from the cottage. We hanged out on the dock on our first night and almost every night. The moon was bright and had a cool breeze. We could just camp on that dock :) The cottage is very clean and comfortable. It has a nice full kitchen. Everything is close by grocery stores, breweries, restaurants and hiking trails. If you like shopping, the outlet mall and LL Bean are just a short drive. South Freeport road is a nice road to run/bike. There are barely any cars on the road and we saw plenty of people running and biking. Stephanie and John are wonderful hosts. They gave us good recommendations on restaurants and hiking trails. Even though they were just a few steps away, we felt that we had our privacy. If you need them they’re there but if not they just leave you be. Our trip to Freeport wouldn't have been this fun and relaxing if we have stayed somewhere else. I definitely recommend staying at their cottage."

"The cottage was charming and the pictures don't do it justice. It has been beautifully remodeled, and decorated. The location is fabulous! Just a short walk to Higgins Beach. I've made many trips to the Portland area over the last 40 years and this may be my new favorite place. So much to see and do nearby....we went to an adorable lobster shack on Blackpoint road and ordered steamed lobsters to go! We would definately return to the cottage!"
