"We keep coming back year after year for the peace and quiet and exploring the famous Maine coast. Between hiking, kayaking, and visiting all of the quintessential coastal villages and towns there is lots to do. Coming home from a day of adventure we savor the privacy of the location. We especially love being able to take a late night swim in the tidal bay and no neighbors looking on.
The house is comfortable and has plenty of room if you want to have guests over for dinner or an overnight stay. The open concept offers space for friends and families and with the downstairs room children can have their area to play video games, watch tv, and get away from the adults.
The owners are very accommodating and only a phone call away. They want to make your stay pleasurable. Come and enjoy your stay. You won't regret it!!!"

"I have enjoyed this home many times with my family over the past years. It is a lovely, cozy waterfront cottage that just lends itself to total relaxation. We have created incredible meals in the kitchen, relaxed on the screened porch, played lawn games for hours and embraced the view as the ferries pass by. We were able to easily spend time in Portland and on other islands. The owners are very gracious and accommodating. It is simply magical and as always we will look forward to returning each year!"

"We had a great stay at Bayberry Ledge with my parents and our twin daughters. Margaret and her dog Lucy were very nice, and the apartment was clean and neat. The kitchen was a bit small for the 6 of us, so we mostly did take-out meals. Heads up: most of the restaurants on the peninsula close after Columbus Day, so it's best to do shopping in Brunswick and bring groceries or meals with you. The views of the ocean were amazing, and the cost for the 6 of us to stay made Bayberry Ledge very affordable. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others!"

"We had a very nice time at the Orr's Cottage. Beautiful area, and a 45 minute drive to Portland where we had amazing meals every night. We had lunch every day down the road at Morse's Cribstone Grille where we had the best lobster rolls we've ever had - and killer cocktails as well.
The cottage was clean, roomy and very well stocked up with kitchen items, towels, pillows, linens, lawn chairs, games, puzzles, etc. Beautiful kitchen! Had we been there longer and weren't so set on so many Portland restaurants I would have cooked a few meals there. The hard water was not a big deal at all. I grew up with well water and just because it has a mineral smell to it (smells like pennies a little) doesn't mean it's dirty. In fact, my skin and hair felt better from the water there than after showering at home in Boston city water.
The house was a little musty smelling when we arrived but as soon as we opened windows and turned on fans it was fine. It's a humid area so maybe the house would benefit from a dehumidifier in between guests when the windows are closed.
There is no longer satellite TV, just an Amazon Firestick so you can access Netflix and Hulu. It was a little hard to use and would freeze during movies sometimes. The WIFI worked great though.
The Orr's and Bailey's Island area is stunning and offers ample hiking trails and walks (Cliff Walk, Devil's Back, Giant's Stairs and Bowdoin Coastal Studies center are all highly recommended). Everywhere was dog friendly and our pup could be off leash the entire time. We saw blue herons and deer in the yard, and heard owls at night. Overall a perfect vacation. We hope to return to the same cottage next year."
