  • Kayaker's Haven

"We stayed in the upper cottage with the porch overlooking the harbor. The cottage was very clean and nicely appointed. There is a kayak and bicycle rental place withing 1/2 mile (Ring's Marina) that supplied us with very nice daytrip kayaks that can be paddled from the marina right to the private dock at high tide. We were out every day, there is so much to see and do here. Tons of little islands to visit and lots or wildlife. Or if a change is needed, there are hiking trails withing easy walking distance, and plenty of shopping and restaurants close by. The scenery is just gorgeous, stunning views of boats, islands and wildlife. The owners couldn't be nicer and were very accommodating. We will definitely be coming back!"

  • Very Restful, Relaxing Cabin

"We stayed two weeks at the little cabin in the woods, enjoying the waterfall when it rained and canoeing in the bay when the tide was up. The little rustic cabin is completely furnished and offers everything - a deck for morning coffee, a big picnic table, a hammock and a sky chair, two sea kayaks and a canoe and a convenient location. We enjoyed the area as well as the house, including the Maritime Museum in Bath, the art museum at Bowdoin College, the Farnsworth Museum to see the Wyeth paintings, and the nearby Olson House where Andrew Wyeth painted Christina's World. Another highlight was the boat trip to Eagle Island to see Admiral Peary's home. The friendly owners met us there and gave us a tour around the property at the beginning of our visit. Highly recommended."

  • the description of the home was accurate

"We rented the house for our daughter's graduation weekend and it suited that purpose very well. We cooked as necessary, hung out and relaxed, slept well, enjoyed the wonderful views, went for runs... It is not a luxurious home, but it is a comfortable place to escape to. Given the #s the house can potentially sleep, the fact that there is only one bathroom with a tub/shower is challenging, but it's workable."
