  • Wonderful Cape Elizabeth Getaway

"Our family of 7 (ages 19-81) had a wonderful week at this sunny, accessible home within walking distance of the far end of Crescent Beach and also Kettle Cove park. Also easy to walk up to the Kettle Cove Creamery for either breakfast or ice-cream! House was clean, cozy and sunny (downstairs is a bit dark and needed humidifier throughout our visit). Owner very helpful and pleasant to deal with. We very much enjoyed our visit to the area - easy to get to Downtown Portland (18 mins.) We would come back here!"

  • Perfect Maine Vacation

"Great place for family to reconnect, whether playing croquet on the lawn surrounding the cottage, combing for seaglass in the small cove across the quiet road, playing board games, stargazing, or sharing early morning coffee on the porch. This cottage, located in a small community of 1920's era homes which have been owned and maintained in many cases by the same families for generations feels like a very special place. The neighbors are welcoming and always stop to share stories of the community or at the very least wave hello. This was our second visit to this cottage and we had an opportunity on this visit to meet many of the wonderful family members who own and maintain this well kept and clean cottage. The smell of the salt air will be the first thing that greets you as you climb out of your car but the memories you build here will last long beyond that. Great location for exploring the mid-coast of Maine as well."

  • The overwhelming beauty of Orr's Island is captured here!

"Our family cannot thank Peter enough for providing us the perfect setting for an adult family vacation--the first time all of our kids were together in Maine (including spouses and significant others) since 1993. Having traveled from MO, PA and CA, it was worth every mile of travel to this incredible destination. Our anticipation built as we took the winding gravel road down to the end of the Lane, where we found our destination, exactly as described and pictured. Actually, pictures cannot capture the inside character, water views, beautiful gardens/lawn area and the soothing sounds of the ocean. Inside are artifacts, pictures, shelves of books and albums from three generation of family and furniture suited to the period and setting of the home--all of this adds to the magical nature of the location. The views from the living and dining rooms, and bedrooms that face the water are breathtaking. The kitchen, larder, and pantry were well equipped including the large pots that made our lobster cooking easy--especially when we had to fetch the sea water for "the only correct method" by which to boil the lobsters :) The substantial "lobster plates" made serving and eating them a real treat. The griddle accessory for the gas stove was perfect for toasting lobster rolls the next day along with enjoying toasted Anadama bread for breakfast Coffee every morning on the porch was the routine for most all. (The sun rises to the "left" of and moves parallel to the front porch) Whether watching the cormorants, gulls, and songbirds, the lobstermen pulling traps within 100 yards of the shore, or just watching the tides move were relaxing routines that started every day off right. The rocky coast and little rock/sand beach were perfect. We launched our kayaks from the beach (rented two others from H2Outfitters by the Cribstone Bridge--of course there is a single person touring kayak on the property that was used every day) and scoured the sand and rocks for sea glass--we found a lot! Go to Erica's in Harpswell for takeout--recommended by a buddy from Yarmouth who knows how and where to eat, well worth the trip. We also had casual family photos taken by a local Harpswell photographer and were thrilled with how he captured the essence of our family and the beauty of the coast!"
