  • Wonderful house in the best location!

"If you're debating on what house to rent in Maine...stop, this is it. We were 6 adults on vacation from NYC and this fit our needs perfectly. The house is huge! and has everything you could hope for. The porches alone are worth the stay, but you can also grab the deck chairs and sit by the ocean which is right there!!! We loved the back patio with the big picnic table with a grill. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and Jane who was lovely to work with and answered all my questions. Bailey island is so cute and quaint and if you do stay here I recommend all things baked from the Salt Cod Cafe which is just 3 min down the road. A blueberry muffin with butter and a cup of coffee sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean is euphoric."

  • Lovely, restful cottage on the water

"Rented in August, 2014...lovely spot, easy access, parking and very comfortable. Beautiful views from inside and out. Youth regatta at the next-door yacht club was entertaining. The only cons were the tiny shower (my slim, athletic 10-year-old mentioned it straightaway) and half of the burners on the stove didn't work - we cook. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting the owners as everything was done with key codes, but they were very easy to work with. We would come back."

  • The Perfect Spot

"We stayed here in August for a week around a wedding celebration and couldn't have asked for a more ideal house or location. While we live only a short ferry ride away, we felt like we were vacationing in a different world. The house is perfectly located just a 1/2 mile from the ferry in a quiet neighborhood. We didn't bring a car, but just rode bikes back and forth to the "downtown". Our 9 and 12 year old boys loved heading out on biking adventures by themselves which we felt comfortable with, given the slow island traffic. The house itself is a truly charming historic cottage with built-ins and lovely pine floors. It was exceptionally clean and the kitchen was well stocked with all manner of utensils & pans. We spent a lot of time playing games on the wrap around deck with great ocean views. We arrived at the house in the dark and the next morning, upon seeing the sparkling light-filled interior and porch, our nine year old announced "I love this house". The boys found a rope swing near the ferry which they loved and we spent time running an biking around the island, building cairns on the nearby beach, and dining at the Peaks Island Inn. The owners could not have been more accommodating from the welcoming note and bubbles for the kids, to a very organized notebook of each appliance in the house and local attractions. We'll be back, thank you so much!"

  • Great island. Great host. Well equipped condo.

"We loved our stay at Diamond Cove. We have two young kids and found the environment very family friendly and safe for exploring. The playground and swimming pool are resort quality. Roger's rental is as advertised and he has thought of everything a guest might need. The bedding is all high quality - even in the children's room, with down and 100. Thoughtful touches and generous amenities are every where and everything is well organized. Our sitters and other islanders we met confirmed that Roger's unit offers more features than most any other rental - including 100+ channel satellite TV, stereo with hundreds of CDs loaded, good bikes for every family member, new washer/dryer, fridge with ice maker, dry goods and cleaning supplies, first aid kit, top quality cookware, dishes, and small appliances. Possible improvements? Carpeted floors are not great for allergies though Roger mentioned he plans to replace them with wood soon. And it would be great to be able to arrange use of a golf cart - both my parents have limited mobility so it would have helped to tour the island and for them to keep up with the kids. Overall - a great vacation. Highly recommended."
