"Arrived here at the end of a short, scenic drive out from the Portland, Maine Jetport. I was greeted by the owners to an awesome marine panorama with views, from atop a embankment just feet from the high tide line, east across the sound to Harpswell and looking southward. The unit itself tends toward pleasant rustic and includes a kitchenette with fridge, two large bedrooms, a bath and a wonderful glassed-in sitting room. A cable TV was available, but I don't do TV, and a small propane heater was not needed in the warm July weather. A short drive takes you to the town of Brunswick, which has numerous stores and restaurants, and also accesses coastal route 1 - the main gateway to the beautiful Maine coast both north and south. The sound of the seabirds and the tidal flows lulled me to sleep and greeted me each morning. Finally, watching the private fireworks on the far side of Harpswell Sound the evening of the Fourth was a treat. I'd recommend this place to anyone."

"What a gorgeous house and place for a relaxing vacation! There was plenty of room for 10 of us in this well layed out home. The house was stocked with everything you could need. The beach was steps away down a rocky path...so close! The sound of the waves at high tide was wonderful to fall asleep to. It was private yet still close enough. Bailey island is a very small but gorgeous island. Sunrise from this house was awesome. The people at morse's cribstone restaurant were wonderful. We went down to lands end and giants stairs. We also visited Freeport and wiscasset. The owner was very helpful and responded almost immediately with any questions I had. If we do another family get together we will definitely consider this place again!"

"The house is comfortable with a nice open feel, great views of the water, even from the bedrooms. We were treated most mornings to a wonderful variety of sunrises over the water, watching from the porch with a cup of coffee couldn't be a better start for early risers. We kayak, so the water access was important to us and it worked out well. Had some great paddling trips, the one out to and under the stone crib bridge and beyond was especially pleasant and we had several encounters with seals, one very close! There is plenty to do for active people but a feature not to be overlooked is the quiet, peaceful solitude, we greatly enjoyed that as well. John and Karen have done a great job providing a excellent vacation venue for anyone seeking a quiet getaway but with no lack of things to do and see all within easy reach. We hope to return to this wonderful spot and recommend it highly for anyone looking to experience the beauty of costal Maine."

"We rented the house, and since the beginning I felt really good about it Wendy Marsden treated me like family and open the doors of her beautiful house on the Island. The house had everything that we needed and more for the stayed, I can wait to go back!!!"
