"This is the place to stay!! South Portland and the Willard Beach neighborhood in particular is quite a unique area with Scoops Ice Cream, a bagel shop, and several locally owned very good restaurants within walking distance (or very short driving distance). This cottage is clean and is beautifully situated on the property of the owner allowing views of the bay and Willard Beach and the islands of Casco Bay. I am so happy I found this cottage. I had a fabulous week there, exploring all up and down the Maine coast (from Kennebunkport to Camden), island hopping off the coast of Portland, discovering lighthouses along the way, visiting interesting towns, and enjoying scenic drives (especially Routes 1 and 88 going north from Portland to Camden, then south through Cape Elizabeth to Old Orchard Beach and Kennebunkport) ~ stay off the toll highway...take the scenic routes -- lots to do and see in the whole area and this beach cottage at Willard Beach is great to have as a home port during your stay. The owner provides you with a list of interesting things to do and good places to eat. There is plenty to see and do in a week's time and still have time to kick back and relax, walking on the beach, or just enjoying watching the boats in the bay from the front porch of the cottage. The cottage is very convenient to Portland without having to be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Portland all the time (Portland is very touristy and can get pretty crowded with traffic along the wharf, but it doesn't take long to figure out how to get around and where to park when there are things you want to do there - like riding the Casco Bay Ferry to do some sight seeing and island hopping or taking a Windjammer sailing cruise). Be sure you have your camera ... there are lots of photo opportunities waiting to be taken !!"

"Overall we were very pleased with the tiny little cabin on the water. We loved the property and even though its small it was perfect for my husband and I and the dog. The water was very accessible and we enjoyed multiple kayaking trips right from our front door step. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone who is looking fora simple and quiet Maine getaway!"

"I grew up in Freeport so I'm very familiar with all the coast has to offer. I was pleasantly surprised with the quiet, gorgeous views. The pictures of the interior are very accurate. If anything the pictures of the views did not do it justice. We brought several friends from Florida to experience summer in Maine and all were very happy! I've already booked a second stay at this house for October. We could not have been more happy with the entire experience!"

"What can we say! This place was amazing! 3 bedrooms each with their own bathroom, makes for getting ready to go out so easy! Fully equipped kitchen and grill on the deck make preparing food for meals easy. Eating at the dining table on the porch was beautiful and the views never got old. This house is a nice base for taking day trips in any direction or just relaxing for the day on the deck or porch. Couple exits south on RT 1 at Cooks corner you have a Shaws and Walmart for all your shopping needs. Everyone in my group enjoyed their stay and was very sad to go. I think even our baby...due in a few weeks did too lol. Don't pass this place up. Majestic views everyday that don't get old. Check out the little island in the harbor with the telescope or binoculars...you might see some puffins. And keep an eye out in the water between the fort for seals frolicking in the water. We hope to return next year!"
