  • Secluded manse on the water

"This home is sited on one of the most beautiful spots I have ever seen. Down a long dirt road, and near, but not visible to, any surrounding properties, this early 20th century shingle and stone house looks out on endless blue water dotted with islands. Sailboats and lobster boats make frequent trips in front of the house. To the right, down a beautifully manicured lawn, is a path to the water. Rocks line the shore, so swimming is a challenge, but exploring is not. The front porch wraps around the house providing privacy if one so chooses. Inside is a warm and welcoming environment, replete with history. If looking for modern, this is not the place to come, even though the house is updated with all the modern conveniences: dishwasher, microwave, new stove, washer, dryer. But the feel is of an earlier, slower time. There were no surprises upon arriving at this vacation spot. It looks exactly as it does in the pictures. It is beautifully maintained with lovely gardens, bursting with flowers. It has every supply necessary (paper towels, cleaning supplies, detergent, toilet paper, linens, towels). The owner is a wonderful man who was very gracious when I informed him that the kite we were flying got caught in the weather vane and refused to budge. Four generations spent a week in this lovely place and all had a wonderful time. The younger folk took day trips to nearby sand beaches and parks, and caught a boat around Casco Bay. The elderly went to museums in Bath and Brunswick. I sat and read! It was a perfect vacation."

  • Beautiful view

"This place was better in person than the Internet can show. A great view of the water, lots is space inside and quick response from the property manager (a faucet was leaking- they replaced it the next morning.). Overall a great time - definitely recommend this place"

  • Family fun in Lowell's Cove

"Our second year at Pinelights was so much fun! With three chlildren ages 3-5, parents, and grandparents we enjoyed endless meals on the decks and at the comfortable table, beachcombing, hermit crabbing, swimming, and cycling. There's ample bedrooms and decks, with both a sunny front porch and another with a shaded wooland view for getting out of the sun. The backyard has plenty of room for games and the little beach is a short walk away. The house is easy to use with internet access, grill, excellent appliances, cookware, towels, linens, etc."

  • Wonderful week at Orr's Island

"Our family of 9, inclusive of 3 seniors,2 young children and 4 thirty something adults absolutely loved our time at this beautiful home. It is a lovely house with outstanding craftsmanship with places to gather or escape whatever your pleasure. The grounds were spacious with outstanding views of the Casco Bay, many fun hours of climbing the rocks by the water. We cooked all of our meals once we figured out the stove and oven, there were ample dishes, pots and pans, silver and glassware. our favorite day trips were sailing from Baileys Island, Popham beach at low tide, shopping at Freeport, and hiking the Giant stairs on Baileys Island. The house itself was super comfortable. A fun time had by all."

Orrs Island Travel Tips

Orrs Island Vacation Rentals Make You Feel Like a Local

There is no better way to learn about a place than living there like a local. When you stay in a hotel room, you feel like a tourist, and you are unable to experience the culture of an area to its fullest. Orrs Island is a unique place, and by staying in a vacation rental, you will get a better feel for the culture, atmosphere, and lifestyle of the people who live there. Give your family the ultimate immersive experience by renting one of the Orrs Island vacation rentals.

Orrs Island Is a Perfect Place to Bring a Pet

Since most hotels do not allow animals unless they are service animals, you should find Orrs Island lodging that is pet friendly. There are many vacation rentals that can accommodate your dog and the rest of your motley crew. Wouldn't it be fun to watch your dog explore the sights and smells of the beaches? Don't you think your pet deserves a vacation too? You can go on hikes, spend time together at your vacation rental, or swim in the water.

Casco Bay Lodging around Orrs Island

You do not even have to stay on Orrs Island to experience the historical area. There are Casco Bay cottages available on many of the surrounding Islands and the main land of Maine. You can visit Orrs Island one day to experience the flavor of that island, and then spend the rest of your vacation touring other Casco Bay islands and attractions in the area.

Orrs Island Vacation Rentals Are Affordable

The rates for Orrs Island vacation rentals are often right in line with hotel rates. The difference is that in an Orrs Island vacation rental, there are unique amenities that not only help your family save money, but make them more comfortable than is possible in a hotel.
