"My wife and I had been to Peaks Island for a day trip when our boys were younger and always said we would like to come back. Well the boys are grown now with significant others and one grandson and we spent a week on Peaks Island that was wonderful. The house and the owners only added to the great time we had. The house was all that the description and pictures said it was. The deck looking over the ocean will wake you up in the morning and put you to sleep at night. We really missed it when we left. The last night my wife and I were going to the Inn for dinner and the major decision we had to make was to either walk or ride our bikes."

"this place was amazing! Mark, the owner, was so helpful and great. The place was beautiful and peaceful. It was clean and very comfortable. We loved the location. Being on the backshore of the island was relaxing and very nice. Mark answered all of questions and was always there for us! It was a perfect family get away! We hope to return someday and you will be so happy if you stay here! No need for a car. We rode bikes everywhere! The owners grounds were even beautiful to explore and the beach is just a short walk. Wonderful!"

"What a beautiful location! The house is perfectly located in a quiet and scenic part of the island. Very low key and friendly people, too. We were lucky to gather here with our 2 sons for a quick family re charge, from our busy professional schedules. We had a nice dinner at the Inn, and also, enjoyed going into Portland for eateries, Sonny's, Empire, and Becky's diner... and The Portland Museum of Art. I would suggest to pay close attention to the ferry schedules, if coming by car, as you have to line up, in the car lane, well in advance of your scheduled passage, because of limited capacity for the cars. Not too bad of a situation, off season. I would caution you on the loft sleeping area, as the access is quite steep, up and down. I would suggest you to bring sheets and towels, for easy departure at the end of your stay.
The bikes did need some attention, so, bring bikes, because, it is an ideal place for riding."

"What a wonderful time we had at Whitehead Lodge. It's the perfect location, just a 5 min walk into town, near sandy beach, and right on the scenic road that takes you around the island. The house is beautiful -- with sweeping views of the water -- so very relaxing. Very clean and fully equipped! They even had a propane fueled lobster pot that attached to the grill! The owners are really helpful and friendly and we enjoyed talking to them about the house, island, etc. If you want a place to go unwind, Whitehead Lodge is IT! Such a find. We will be back!"
