"So after looking at a ton of houses on VRBO, my friends and I decided on Mark's house on Peak's Island. We are 4 couples, all around 30 years old, looking to just have fun and relax and not spend a ton of money. Mark's house was EXACTLY what we needed!!
First of all I was a bit nervous about staying on an island that is only 4 miles around, thinking we might get bored. However that is not the case. Mark's house location if perfect. It is only 1 mile from the ferry that drops you off at Peak's Island. And it is tucked away so that no matter how loud we seemed to get, we weren't bothering anybody. He is literally a 5min walk to the ocean on the back shore. His house has 4 bedrooms, all with beds plenty big for 2 adults. There are also 2 full bathrooms, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs which is again, ideal for 8 people. He had a bunch of board games (we took full advantage of pictionary), movies, a decent sized tv in the living room, washer/dryer, and a kitchen which had everything that we needed to cook. He even has different spices, a blender, different sized pots and pans, and tools for the barbecue. There is also a hot tub and a golf cart which you can use! Seriously it was a really perfect house. There is also a goldfish pond outside and a fire pit.
We cooked 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners at Mark's house and on 1 day we took the ferry back over to Portland and explored for the day. 1 tip, if you can, try and come to Peak's Island on a Wednesday, you can bring your car over for only $32 round trip! Otherwise Thurs-Sun it is over $80. Still not too bad but definitely more expensive. Overall I would highly recommend Mark's house if you are looking for a getaway where you can relax or party, or both for a really great price."

"This home is a little piece of paradise! Tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable with plenty of room but what really made it standout was the views from all sides of the house, which is perched on a peninsula. Water, water everywhere from every window! The location is great - easy access to Brunswick's great shops, restaurants and galleries and pretty close to the Freeport outlets and other interesting Maine coast towns.
The house itself has great flow for both relaxing and entertaining. On a chilly night, we sat around the cozy fireplace. There's also a screened porch where we had cocktails and dinner while gazing at the sunset. And there's even a dock for boating and swimming! The owner has thought of everything: fluffy towels, luxurious bed linens, a fully equipped kitchen -- all which helped make our stay extremely enjoyable. Would love to return this summer!"

"We had such a wonderful time in our cottage in West Bath! My husband and I really got to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beautiful scenery that this rental had to offer. It is remarkably well located and offered easy commute to everything we wanted from South Portland to Camden. The dock wasn't completely in the water yet, perhaps because we were early in the season. The cottage comes equipped with everything you need to enjoy a very comfortable stay. It would have been perfect if kayaks were on premises, but they are close by for rental."
