  • Great experience!

"This was a spacious, comfortable and clean house. The kitchen had everything you could need and there was plenty of space. The location was great; nice local bakery, ice cream shop and dog shop. The beach was a few minutes away, and beautiful. I wish I had time to take a bike ride around the area, but it was a busy week. The owner couldn't have been more pleasant! I would definately stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Portland area."

  • Great house and neighborhood!

"We stayed at the house with our 5 y o daughter and her grandparents - so 4 adults and 1 child. The house and yard are lovely and the proximity to the beach, bakery, ice cream shop and downtown Portland is wonderful. The house is funky and artistic and generally well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The 3rd bedroom (not pictured) is a cute sitting room with a loft bed. We had thought about overlapping with my sister and brother-in law and their daughter but Lee warned us against it and he was right, it would have been a bit tight. The loft bed would be great for an older kid or a single person, but might be uncomfortable for couples (though looks like some have enjoyed it). We brought an air mattress and had out daughter in the downstairs bedroom with us - plenty of room. We would definitely consider renting the house again!"

  • Perfection!

"We love this little corner of South Portland. Just a short walk from the beach, this immaculate apartment meets all our needs. Minutes from the city and the beaches, great bike rides, super restaurants and Fort William. We are already booked for our next visit."

  • This is the place to stay !!!

"This is the place to stay!! South Portland and the Willard Beach neighborhood in particular is quite a unique area with Scoops Ice Cream, a bagel shop, and several locally owned very good restaurants within walking distance (or very short driving distance). This cottage is clean and is beautifully situated on the property of the owner allowing views of the bay and Willard Beach and the islands of Casco Bay. I am so happy I found this cottage. I had a fabulous week there, exploring all up and down the Maine coast (from Kennebunkport to Camden), island hopping off the coast of Portland, discovering lighthouses along the way, visiting interesting towns, and enjoying scenic drives (especially Routes 1 and 88 going north from Portland to Camden, then south through Cape Elizabeth to Old Orchard Beach and Kennebunkport) ~ stay off the toll highway...take the scenic routes -- lots to do and see in the whole area and this beach cottage at Willard Beach is great to have as a home port during your stay. The owner provides you with a list of interesting things to do and good places to eat. There is plenty to see and do in a week's time and still have time to kick back and relax, walking on the beach, or just enjoying watching the boats in the bay from the front porch of the cottage. The cottage is very convenient to Portland without having to be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Portland all the time (Portland is very touristy and can get pretty crowded with traffic along the wharf, but it doesn't take long to figure out how to get around and where to park when there are things you want to do there - like riding the Casco Bay Ferry to do some sight seeing and island hopping or taking a Windjammer sailing cruise). Be sure you have your camera ... there are lots of photo opportunities waiting to be taken !!"
