"This lovely lakeside cabin in the woods gives new meaning to the word serenity. If you want quiet, you've got it. Beautiful surroundings, not a problem. And really there were enough amenities to make you feel quite pampered despite the rustic environment. Our bed as well as the livingroom furniture were very comfortable indeed. Martinis at twilight on the terrace overlooking the lovely lake anyone? For us this was as good as it gets! The only negative I could come up with is the mosquito factor but that goes with the territory. Keep covered up if they love you too much, would be my advice. We made day trips to cities on the Southern coast of Maine and I can tell you there's almost nothing that's over 35-40 minutes away. Even Portsmouth, N.H. is not that far. So add "very convenient" to this review! My husband and stepson became fishing fanatics and utilized both of the kayaks and the canoe more than once during this stay. I absolutely would return, and thanks Robert for your excellent communication!"

"We had 8 women stay at the house and had plenty of room. The house was wonderful! It was clean, nicely decorated, super convenient and easy to find. The beds were comfy and we had all the necessities; coffee maker, iron, blankets etc.
I have already requested to rent house again next year for girls weekend getaway.
Also, owner was so pleasant and extremely easy to deal with. Wonderful experience!!
Thank you for a great time."

"This home was perfect for our 3 generation family vacation. It had everything we wanted: a bed for everyone, 2 full bathrooms, well supplied kitchen, outdoor space, grill, laundry, and close to beaches. The location was also great for beaches, golf, lobster, restaurants, shopping and a quick rainy day trip to Portland to visit children's museum and a brewery. Enjoyed meeting the owners."

"I spent a very pleasant week in this peaceful location with my family, parents and sister's family. Helen was very accommodating when I was trying to plan this vacation, also giving suggestions for things to do and where to get things like groceries from. The house is in a beautiful setting, well away from other houses with plenty of space to play outside for the kids. The pool was a wonderful addition, clean and a good size. The beach is a short walk down a dirt road and small path. Our children aged 9-12 could navigate this on their own. The beach itself is very small at high tide but widens out to a great flat play area when the tide goes out. We enjoyed many games of beach soccer, ultimate frisbee, and beach tennis. The water was cool, but delightful and the kids loved hunting in the rock pools for crabs. The house has many decks and nooks to find a sunny or shady spot to sit in to enjoy the peace, views and wildlife. We saw humming birds but the moose remained illusive. The screened porch was a great place to eat to avoid the mosquitos that emerged at dusk. We explored the nearby towns and beaches and a a fishing trip from Perkins Cove were a highlight, despite no fish to bring home. The house is definitely older, but comfortable and we really enjoyed the beautiful art hung around the house walls. Thank you Helen for a wonderful vacation."
