  • Perfect Farm House

"This is a wonderful property in York Village! My family recently rented this home and it was the perfect fit! We had a large extended family celebration in Maine and everyone from 2 years old to 65 had a fantastic time. This house is a lovely old farm house with additions here and there and overall is plenty large. Our party had 11 in it and we had plenty of room to play games, ride bikes, read books, sit and chat, etc. We learned from the owner the house has been passed down through generations and has lots of great history, which we loved! But it is also being updated so it is modern in all its functions. There was another review about air conditioners and they were, as stated by the owner's response, brought to the house the following week because our family enjoyed them in the very warm NE temperatures. The photos do not do this house justice. It is a home that has a lot of charm! Another thing that was important to our family was the house we rented needed to be clean and it was. Plus we found all the sheets and towels easily assessable (which was really nice since we all traveled in from around the country) and the kitchen was stocked with just about everything one could need including fun plastic plates for lobster! The York Harbor beach was a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive and was a great gem to find. It really is the best beach in the area! It is a cove and mostly only used by locals so it wasn't overcrowded. Yay! We also easily drove up scenic roads to Perkins Cove for a harbor tour which was really nice. We picked blueberries at The Friendly Blueberry patch in York-highly recommend. We made our way to Freeport which was about an hour and we walked around this town enjoying York Beach downtown with yummy popcorn and taffy. And the owner was quick to respond to our few requests which we are always thankful when doing vrbo. This house is on our list of favorites and we hope to come back as soon as we can. It was a great relaxing place to spend a week! Thanks for listing it!"

  • Perfect

"My husband and I along with another couple and our dogs stayed at this beautiful cabin for two nights as we made our way up the Maine coast. It really is pretty secluded. We loved it. The cabin had every we needed. The lake/river view is beautiful. We enjoyed the fire pit, barbecue, and the screened porch for dinner and cards. The cabin is about a 20-25 minute drive to the coast/beaches. We ended up in Kennebunk both days. Luckily the beach is free before June 15. The only thing that could have made this better would be access to a kayak or canoe."

  • DREAM vacation ... by the Sea ... these folks DELIVER what they promise!!

"My partner and I have stayed at Black Boar Inn in BOTH condos of the Beach Rose, and many of the rooms in the Inn. And we've enjoyed it so much, we've brought a special friend or two with us, each of every year. Without questions, the Beach Rose accommodations are absolutely the best - most comfortable and welcoming -- and VERY facilitative to those of us who love to cook and entertain; the best comment I could make would be this: we wanted to just MOVE the place back to our farm in the MidWest -- but, then we remembered that the Ocean wouldn't be a five-minute walk away - and that would make a huge difference - we just decided to come back and visit, year after year, which we have DONE for several years, now. The Owners/Operators are immediately totally sincere and caring friends - and the pricing for the place is more than reasonable for a weeks worth of comfort and rest and celebration in Maine - and the place is always so very clean and fresh. There are LOTS of places that we'd also really love to go in this world, on vacation ... but, with the economy as it is ... if we can only take ONE vacation a year ... it WILL be to Ogunquit, to the Beach Rose. We KNOW we'll always get MuchMore than our money's worth, again and again."
