  • Perfect spot for vacation with extended family!

"I rented this cabin for a week in the fall. We were 4 adults and a toddler and this was perfect. We could sit on the dock with coffee and breakfast, short drive to the beach a few times, an evening in Portland. Rest of the time we had plenty of room for big suppers in the gazebo, fires, and card games. Big Lobster pot and all the usual seafood gear was provided, great seafood in Kennebunk and Wells. Very quiet pond, hope to go back again."

  • Home away from home

"We had the most delightful and restful stay in this most comfortable apartment. It was so much fun to come "home" each night to a very comfortable bed and we so enjoyed watching all the goings-on out the window. We also enjoyed meeting the owners, which was a plus for us. The place was immaculate and provided everything we needed and then some. If we are ever in the area again, we shall try to stay in this beautiful apartment."

  • Beautiful and Relaxing Cape Porpoise

"We had an absolutely wonderful time in Cape Porpoise with our three adult sons coming and going throughout the week. We had visited Kennebunkport for many summers, when our children were younger, so this was like coming home again. The house is very cozy in all the positive respects and everything necessary (grocery store, restaurants, ice cream) is within walking distance. Sitting on the deck, fixing food on the grill, and just enjoying this perfect setting make for a truly relaxing vacation. The location and views are a dream and Debby and Bruce could not be nicer or more accommodating. It was a superb week for all of us and we look forward to coming back next year."

  • Bucolic, Pastoral, Idyllic

"What more need be said than the adjectives in the title. This was a fantastic vacation hide-away retreat. Only minutes from beautiful Kennebunkport/Cape Porpoise, this was a most wonderful place to stay. We imagined what we thought it would be like, but nothing expressed our joy when we actually had the experience of staying in this historic schoolhouse. The house was laced with beautiful eclectic furniture and Wendy (the owner) had a number of her own pottery pieces throughout the lovely transposed home. There was certainly the feel of being at the sea with a unique "Mermaid' theme and presence. My wife and I especially loved the beautiful Mermaid sink basin that was caste by Wendy. You could feel the homey warmth of the place and her personal touches and comfortable big bed was a treasure to lay in after a very active day. Her kitchen provided everything we needed with at least two sun porches and an extra bedroom if anyone had children. We diurnally looked forward to returning to our little red rented schoolhouse at the end of the day. Wendy was a most wonderful host and even gave us some fantastic tomatoes which we found in a basket on the porch one morning. She said she had a "bumper crop" and they provided us with at least three wonderful meals. All in all, it was one of the best vacation experiences we ever had and worth every penny. If you are looking for a somewhat quiet, placid retreat, you can't go wrong staying at the little red schoolhouse. It is far removed from being tight, cramped or confining. It truly felt like our home away from home and we hope to have the experience of staying there again in two or three years. Thank you Wendy for giving us a most memorable experience!!!"
