  • Darling Home and Great Communication with Owner!

"We loved our stay here, and would stay again! Great location central to many neighboring cities. The home was well-cared-for and clean, and stocked with all the supplies we needed. The owner was very accommodating and replied to us quickly when we emailed to ask questions. If there was one downfall, it was that the beds and pillows were not the most comfortable we've ever tried, but they were not terrible, either. (Also no dishwasher, so pack your paper plates.)"

  • The perfect place to unwind.

"The Little Seashell is a lovely escape for anyone who just wants to unwind and surround themselves with nature. From the eternal sound of the ocean to the delightful song of the Mockingbird in the pine tree out front, it is all a balm to the soul. The cottage itself was a pleasant surprise from the gas fireplace for the cool mornings to the wonderful enclosed front porch that looks over the dunes and ocean. Although we did some exploring of nearby towns a few mornings, we found ourselves anxious to get back to the cottage. Sue was available and helpful without being intrusive. We did not want to leave and we will definitely will be back."

  • Dream House for Dream Vacation

"This beautifully furnished, spacious, well-stocked, well-equipped house, ideally situated on a quiet cove with an adjacent sand beach is a marvelous place for a large group. Our group consisted of a dozen people, 10 adults and 2 small children. The bedroom and bathroom arrangements assured a good degree of privacy when wanted and the communal spaces provided ample room for us all to be together. Everything about this house exceeded our expectations. The kitchen and pantry are a cook's paradise. The landscaping is lovely. Kittery Point is a great starting place for exploring the Southern Maine and New Hampshire Coasts. It is not crowded and minimally touristy. The house itself is pretty secluded on an unmarked private road, yet it is near restaurants, shops, and yes, the famed Kittery Outlet stores, if shopping is on your agenda. The closest major town is Portsmouth, NH, a very comfortable and interesting place. Nate and Peter were very accommodating of our needs. We needed a high chair and crib for our grandson and they were bought immediately upon our request. Peter and the gardening crew made sure that everything was in tip-top shape all week long. A side note, as we had small children in our party, doing laundry often was a necessity and the washer and dryer were amazing appliances. In fact, all of the appliances were top of the line. I could go on and on, but I think you can get the picture. We all loved this place and recommend it without reservation."

  • Great for our large family

"This house was great for our summer family vacation. We are three generations, ages 3 to 60+. Throughout the week we had 9-11 adults and 5 children. The kids (cousins ages 3 – 8) like to camp out in one bedroom, so that left plenty of bedrooms for everyone else. The house was so large that we never felt crowded (we joked that we would need GPS to find the kids). There was a bathroom for each bedroom, so that was a luxury compared to other houses we’ve rented. The house was a short walk to the beach. At the beginning of the week the beach had a lot of seaweed from a recent storm, so we used the public beach (which had lifeguards, which was a bonus) just down the road. At the end of the day we used a car to get the beach gear back but most of us would walk back up the beach to return to the house. The area was very nice and quiet. The kids were able to ride their bikes around the neighborhood every day. The small back yard was mostly the parking area, but we found a table in the basement that we put out there and that’s where we usually all gathered for dinner. There’s a local market with fresh lobster and other food. Very nice people but expensive as small markets usually are. Supermarkets and large stores are about 20 minutes away in Biddeford. The owner was very nice and helpful. We’d never been to the area so he answered several emails about the location and the house, and met us at the beginning of the week. It was a great week, a great house, very welcoming owner. We would definitely rent again."
