  • A Historic Property w/ Up-to-Date Amenities!

"A wonderful find! I booked a week to spend some vacation time in Maine with my Mom, and we had a fabulous stay. Our family has summer'd in the York area for more than 50 years, and we know the Long Sands and Short Sands areas well, but had never spent time in the York Harbor area before. One of the owners met us when we arrived. What a warm welcome! -- she gave us a tour and provided lots of helpful information about the area. This was definitely a quiet and peaceful place to stay, well away from the Short Sands craziness but close enough to visit when we wanted to.... The apartment was lovely -- immaculate, and fully equipped, with thoughtful touches throughout. The sun room was delightful, and we spent many evening hours reading, relaxing and enjoying the sunsets. The nearby Chapman Cottage (recently renovated by the York Harbor Inn and recommended by the owner) proved to be a great destination for Happy Hour drinks and small plates. Yum! And, of course no trip to York would be complete without the Goldenrod "salt water taffy show" -- which never fails to entertain old and young alike..."

  • Dream Maine experience!

"We stayed in the front unit of this two-unit home. While cozy, it was perfectly comfortable and the location was second to none. A couple of blocks from the KBIA and beach, with lots of great jogging / walking in any direction. The house itself is 3 bedrooms (2 of which are good size, the 3rd is more modest), a very serviceable kitchen with laundry nook, 1 bath, and a family room area. Mike and Ann, the owners, were always available to answer questions, make recommendations, etc. The neighborhood is crawling with friendly people and kids 12 and under during the summer, and our 8, 6, and 4 year olds had the time of their lives while staying in The Fairview Cottage. We definitely look forward to returning again."

  • Perfect place to stay!

"The Treehouse provided everything and more for our recent holiday! We were celebrating a special birthday for a member of our travel party and wanted enough room for all of us in a charming place close to town, and the Treehouse was absolutely perfect. The property was immaculate, with everything we needed to enjoy great times at home watching the World Cup (Our German friend was especially happy with the outcome), practicing yoga on the lower deck with our newly trained yogi celebrating his 50th, working jigsaw puzzles purchased at the local toy store, and playing with our Doberman puppy. We walked into town and to the beach every day. David (the owner) was responsive to our questions throughout our stay. It is clear he is very committed to his guests having an amazing experience. This was my first trip to Maine and I can't believe what I have been missing. This gem is perfect for relaxing and enjoying life with great restaurants and shopping. I especially enjoyed our early morning beach times with our puppy - the beach changes in the tides and the atmosphere on both cloudy and sunny days was remarkable."

  • Sweetest Little House in Maine

"This charming little house is the perfect place for a relaxing stay in Maine. Close to Kennebunkport/Kennebunk and all they have to offer, but away from the crush of the tourists when you need a break. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and a gas grill outdoors, should you feel like cooking, but is walking distance to Nunan's Lobster Hut (wicked lobster rolls and delicious blueberry pie!) and Cape Porpoise Kitchen, for when you don't. The rest of the house is cozy and built for lounging and the beds are more comfortable than one would expect for a rental property - sleep with the windows open and snuggle under the covers for the best nights sleep! For a real treat, walk to the Cape Porpoise Kitchen for coffee and breakfast then take a walk to the Cape Porpoise pier. Sit on one of the benches and take in the view of the lobster boats and the Goat Island lighthouse. Don't miss the Chowder House, with their delicious fish chowder and fried seafood. We will definitely be back to this little house, and next time, we're staying longer!"
