Beautiful Spot and a Great Location
"Cabin is just as described and was a perfect getaway for us. I would have been very happy rotating between front deck, back deck and dock with a book and beverage, but my husband is a "let's go see" kind of guy. We compromised and did lots of both, and this is the perfect place for it. Not in the middle of the oceanfront craziness but close enough to it that you can visit if you'd like. We ate several meals in Wells, a couple in S. Berwick, one in Ognuquit and spent a lovely afternoon in Portsmouth, NH. Cabin is rustic and charming but has everything we needed and is very comfortable. Already looking forward to another trip."

"We have not stopped raving about the week on "our island" since we returned from our trip! After being away from the Maine Coast for many years, we were itching to get back to the beautiful summers we remembered. We will never stay away again (we are already deciding when to go back to the island for 2016). It is incredible how quickly the day went by while we were "doing nothing"! We felt no need to leave the island at all! My husband ad I are on the go all the time and this was the perfect vacation for us. We had glorious weather, fabulous food (Jim supplied wonderful lobster & fish; Tudor is an incredible baker!) Catur was very responsive to our needs. The island has a spectacular location, the cottage is beautifully built, the grounds are wonderful to explore and the great city of Portsmouth is very close by if one feels the need to get off the island. It is not often a vacation spot exceeds our expectations - Gooseberry Island certainly did!!! For a couple, single individual or a family, what a special experience it will be. Folks back home can't believe the pictures! Thanks again for everything!!! B&M"

"This whole experience was wonderful. We booked this beautiful home very last minute because the house we originally booked had canceled on us 3 days before our trip due to construction issues. But in the mist of things Steve and Valancy were over and above to accommodate my family in such short notice . They were very understanding and attentive to our needs. We arrived very late on the first night due to Boston traffic and Steve was there with a smile on his face welcoming us to our new slice of paradise by the lake for the next couple days. The house itself is absolutely beautiful the pictures don't give it justice , beautiful cathedral ceilings with sky lights to bring in the light, followed by a very well applied spacious kitchen . the house has two fireplaces one in the main living room and one in the master bedroom which also has its own deck. There was also a wood stove hot tub that my mom mentioned that she was interested in using so Steve was out there every hour feeding it wood just to accommodate her needs ,( over and above our expectations). The house is literally walking steps to the lake in which at night u can see almost every star when you sit out on the dock. Me and my family traveled up there originally for a fundraiser and had mentioned it to the owners and it was also so nice of them to attend . the whole experience was just truely wonderful and brought my family great joy and happiness thanks to the wonderful owners we truely felt we were at home away from home."
