  • Our happy place

"My Tern is our favorite place to stay. Comfortable, welcoming, beautiful setting on the tidal river. We spend lots of time on the patio in good weather, watching the birds and the tides. Easy access to Wells Beach if we want the waves. Very convenient location. Plenty of blankets for chilly weather, and plenty of pillows. Very accomodating hosts, thanks so much!"

  • August vacation

"My husband and I along with our three grandsons (13,15,17) spend the week. The swimming and kayaking was wonderful and without the normal worries of motor boats. The beach and restaurants were within fifteen miles. The cabin is well taken care of and has everything you could need. This was a very relaxing vacation. My only compliant is that it isn't nearer to central New York so we could stay there more often."

  • Children will love it!

"My two children, ages 10 and 12, and I spent a week on this fabulous farm. Pam and Nicol are extremely pleasant, giving people. Their home, gardens, ponds and apartment are so beautiful. Then, there's the awesome barn! When the rope swing in the barn came down, I knew this was the place for us. My kids would swing for hours - it was such an unexpected treat! The experience is one we will remember and my kids are asking when we can go back! Always a good sign!"

  • Beautiful and Relaxing Cape Porpoise

"We had an absolutely wonderful time in Cape Porpoise with our three adult sons coming and going throughout the week. We had visited Kennebunkport for many summers, when our children were younger, so this was like coming home again. The house is very cozy in all the positive respects and everything necessary (grocery store, restaurants, ice cream) is within walking distance. Sitting on the deck, fixing food on the grill, and just enjoying this perfect setting make for a truly relaxing vacation. The location and views are a dream and Debby and Bruce could not be nicer or more accommodating. It was a superb week for all of us and we look forward to coming back next year."

York Harbor Travel Tips

Exciting Getaway with York Harbor Vacation Rentals

When looking for a great getaway along the southern coast of Maine consider going to York Harbor to relax in one of the fantastic York Harbor vacation rentals there. The city of York is made up of four communities: York (known also as Old York and York Village), York Beach, York Harbor and Cape Neddick -- together referred to as "The Yorks." It has been rated, "One of the top ten places to vacation in the U.S," by Money Magazine. The area has great beaches, but also boasts authentic eighteenth and nineteenth century buildings and architecture as well as lots of shopping and wonderful restaurants and eateries.

York, Maine Beaches and Activities

The Yorks are known for their great beaches and you'll be close by all the fun in your York Harbor lodging. York Harbor is an ideal vacation spot that includes York Beach. Activities there include boating, fishing, hiking, biking, golfing, swimming and kayaking. There are lots of fun places to visit close by the beach, like a carousel, arcades and York's Wild Kingdom (Maine's largest zoo and amusement park), a historic lighthouse and a museum that has the oldest jail in America. Another fun beach to visit with lots of amenities is Short Sands beach which has a playground, bathhouse, outdoor showers and a basketball court. But if you're looking to catch some waves, Long Sands Beach is where the surfers go.
