  • A charming apartment that provided a convenient home base for sightseeing trips into Washington DC

"What a great place to visit - Frederick, Maryland. Other than the brief description of the property and a short conversation with the owner, we really had no idea what to expect. We were so pleasantly surprised!! We used the apartment as a base to make several trips into our nation's capital. We could have easily spent the entire week in and around Frederick, visitng several historical sites. The owner was "spot on" with her description of its location. The apartment was also exactly as the owner described it. It is sparse but has everything one needs. We had several questions for the owner and she was always available via phone to answer them. During the week we were there, four days we drove the 23 miles into Rockville where we picked up the Metro into D-C. The trip in was easy and relatively inexpensive - $9 each for round trip Metro ticket and $5 for all day parking. Two days we devoted to the sites in and around Frederick - walking the Monocacy Battlefield, visiting the battlefield at Antietam, and walking the Mount Olivet Cemetery where Francis Scott Key is buried. For those who geocache - there are some awesome caches within easy walking distance of the apartment. In fact, the historical part of the city is within easy walking distance of the apartment. We cooked most of our dinners in the apartment but would recommend Isabella's. La Paz didn't really satisfy our desire for Mexican food. Would we stay here again? - Absolutely! Would we recommend it to friends or relatives? - Without a doubt. Remember - it's not extravagant but easily meets one's needs - a homey little place to lie one's head!"

  • A fantastic property that more than lived up to its billing!

"This was without doubt the loveliest, well-equipped and most comfortable home we have stayed in as a family. 5 large bedrooms meant everyone had a room, the bathrooms and kitchen were really clean and well equipped and the 2 lounges provided large, comfortable living space for our party of 7. There were even London radio stations to make us Brits feel at home! And the garden was very attractive and secluded with a big barbeque and plenty of outdoor seating at the table which we put to good use! The property was also ideally located for the touring that we had in mind, with Washington DC, Harpers Ferry, Gettysburg and Amish country all within a reasonable drive and very much worth the visit. We also enjoyed the local nature trail, with close sightings of deer and a snake in a lovely wooded area. There were good supermarkets locally for food etc, so everything was taken care of. The only thing I'd have done differently is to have stayed a few days longer than the 5 that we did because the property was so welcoming, especially after a long day's touring. A real home-from-home that I would thoroughly recommend."

  • Wonderful Place to Stay and Great People to rent from

"My family and I took a house hunting trip and this place was perfect for us. While my wife and I were out looking for a home, the kids and babysitter would stay here and they had plenty of entertainment. My 9 year old loved the movie room, air hockey table, ping pong table and the outdoor activities. My three year old loved all the toys, the horse, and the movie room. I can say my wife and I could take some time for our selves and watch a movie in the movie room or sit in front of the fire place once the kids went to bed. The little kitchenette was great for our needs. The couple has thought of everything a family may need or want while staying there. There is grocery stores, shopping, and places to eat within minutes of the house. This place really is a wonderful place for a family to stay where they will feel safe and at home. The property is exactly has listed, the photos and amenities are accurate, the property is cleaned and well maintain, the owners are very helpful and considerate, and I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in the DC area."

  • Frederick Christmas trip

"We really enjoyed our stay, the house was nicely decorated for Christmas. The house was charming and was conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, etc. The owner was very helpful and available if needed. We ended up wanting to extend our trip for another day and we were able to stay with no problems!"
