  • Great place for family events

"My family stayed at Bowes Manor for three nights for a wedding event. The house was well maintained, beautiful and clean. It was fully furnished and complete with everything including linens, washer/dryer, pots and pans in the kitchen for cooking and chafing dishes for serving our guests for our various events. The house has a nice patio area. We had small kids who also had fun bouncing on the trampoline and playing with the toys at the top level of the house. Plenty of yard space and a lot of parking including street parking. There is also a gas grill or the community swimming pool nearby but we didn't end up using those. Overall, the house has a nice warm feel to it."

  • great city, great stay

"I stayed here with my wife, toddler daughter, and mother, for a getaway weekend from DC. We loved the location, an easy walk to cute downtown Frederick and nearby parks/playgrounds, and close to the highway for easy access to Cunningham Falls State Park and home. The owner was a great communicator and very helpful. The place itself was beautiful, well furnished, a little small for 3.5 people but that was not a problem. There is a beautiful back yard that occupied my daughter for hours. (One heads up - bring bug spray in the summer time.) A minor complaint is that the master bedroom doesn't have A/C. Other than that, we were delighted all weekend!"

  • Serenity, amenities, and country hospitality

"A group of friends and myself stayed at this lodge for a weekend in mid October, and we were thrilled with what we got. The huge sitting room with a king-size fireplace, the luxurious bedrooms, the fully-equipped kitchens (plural), the sauna, the cabin feel of a wood fire stove in another living room, and the views of this magnificent horse farm. We lucked out staying here during this time of the year and we hope to again in the future. Many thanks to the owner for allowing us to share this home away from home!"

  • Convenient academic rental close to NIH

"Very comfortable accommodations with everything you need for an academic stay at the NIH. Owners are extremely attentive and wonderful to work with. Very quiet and sweet neighborhood suitable for long walks after a hard day. Neighbors are very friendly. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone."
