  • Amazing Place for a Group Getaway

"If you want a place where you can have great times with a large family or group, this is it. The kitchen is excellent and spacious and allows for cooking large meals for big groups, and there are plenty of comfortable places in the house to hang out, watch a movie, or play games. One of the highlights is the theatre, which feels like a real one. We also enjoyed outside of the house with a great front yard for football, a small basketball court, and a peaceful back porch. Highly recommended for any large reunion, getaway, or family vacation."

  • Exceptional Home, Exceptional Owners!

"We came to the DC area in July to be with our daughter and son-in-law for the birth of our first grandchild. We stayed at this wonderful home twice ... first for a week before the baby was born, then for another ten days after providing a week of "live-in help" to our kids and new granddaughter after her birth. We chose this house in Chevy Chase for its location (convenient to our daughter, shopping, restaurants, downtown, etc.) and for its character as displayed in the HomeAway/VRBO listing. Everything about the house exceeded our expectations. Even better ... we found ourselves being surprised and delighted time and time again by details, small and large, that reflected the personalities of the owners and their family: a million interesting books on art, history, current events, fiction, biography. Art everywhere, indoors and out, colorful and eclectic, many pieces executed by the owner, an accomplished sculptor. Family photographs. A kitchen stocked with the utensils and condiments of a chef. A baby grand piano in the family room... with playable sheet music in the seat! A Samsung Smart TV with Netflix and a Playstation. An airy, well lighted and productive office. A beautiful dining room ... we were able to entertain some friends and family for a formal dinner as if we were in our own home. Super comfortable beds and roomy bedrooms. The surrounding neighborhood is serene, well established and affluent, with beautiful houses, trees and lawns. A perfect place for an early morning walk, meeting friendly neighbors and their dogs. A cute neighborhood shopping center with a well stocked little grocery, an old-fashioned drugstore and a nice coffee shop. The owners were very easy to communicate with and very informative. They provided a well written "welcome packet" which answered all the basic questions one has when staying at some else's home in a new neighborhood. We loved this house, enjoyed making the acquaintance of the owners, if only from afar. And we look forward to our next visit to the area. The best recommendation we can give is this: we shall return! Guaranteed!"

  • A charming apartment that provided a convenient home base for sightseeing trips into Washington DC

"What a great place to visit - Frederick, Maryland. Other than the brief description of the property and a short conversation with the owner, we really had no idea what to expect. We were so pleasantly surprised!! We used the apartment as a base to make several trips into our nation's capital. We could have easily spent the entire week in and around Frederick, visitng several historical sites. The owner was "spot on" with her description of its location. The apartment was also exactly as the owner described it. It is sparse but has everything one needs. We had several questions for the owner and she was always available via phone to answer them. During the week we were there, four days we drove the 23 miles into Rockville where we picked up the Metro into D-C. The trip in was easy and relatively inexpensive - $9 each for round trip Metro ticket and $5 for all day parking. Two days we devoted to the sites in and around Frederick - walking the Monocacy Battlefield, visiting the battlefield at Antietam, and walking the Mount Olivet Cemetery where Francis Scott Key is buried. For those who geocache - there are some awesome caches within easy walking distance of the apartment. In fact, the historical part of the city is within easy walking distance of the apartment. We cooked most of our dinners in the apartment but would recommend Isabella's. La Paz didn't really satisfy our desire for Mexican food. Would we stay here again? - Absolutely! Would we recommend it to friends or relatives? - Without a doubt. Remember - it's not extravagant but easily meets one's needs - a homey little place to lie one's head!"
