"The cottage is adorable! Perfectly clean, well stocked, very comfortable, good outdoor space. When I realized that the cottage is on the main/only road through Tilghman Island, I worried about road noise. There was none! We arrived slightly ahead of a nor'easter, so our first day was spent reading and watching TV on the long sofa in the living room. Fortunately the weather cleared for a great afternoon at the Maritime Museum, and a delightful sunset sail on the Rebecca Ruark. Captain Wade Murphy is quite the entertainer!
Since we visited in late October, the island was very quiet. We spent most of our time in St Michaels, so we traveled the 15 miles each way several times daily. Also, the weather kept us from doing more outdoor activities.
I think the cottage and the island would be a perfect location in warmer weather. The cottage includes an outdoor grill and bicycles."

"This historic house and waterfront setting gave us the comfort and serenity we desired on our girls weekend get-a-way. Just a couple miles from the St. Michael's shops, restaurants, and bars. Nancy and John were absolutely so accommodating! We all would LOVE to come back with families during the summer so we can take advantage of the pool and water sports. Got to stop by Ava's for pizza!"

"We had an excellent week long family reunion vacation at Brittland Manor. Natalie was helpful and informative both in the booking process and in directing us as we settled in. The house is more a mansion than a typical vacation rental. There are so many rooms and places to hang out that everyone had fun and a place to be.We were a very large group and still, there were so many rooms, and the outdoors were so beautiful and attractive that no one felt cramped. We enjoyed the sparkling clean pool and fishing in the river. Rusty, the caretaker was cheerful and ever so helpful. The mattresses were so comfortable, there was an endless amount of towels, little toothpastes and shampoos in each bathroom, to name some of the appreciated amenities.
We've rented many vacation homes but Brittland Manor was hands down the best choice ever. Thanks!"

Sunny days + Cold Nights + Roaring Fire = Stellar Vacation
"Our six adult, two dog and one 5-year old group arrived at Still Pond Creek for a 4 night stay hoping to enjoy a comfortable and spacious house, lovely grounds to explore with our dogs, and lots of board games and craft projects to enjoy at the large dining room table. Still Pond Creek was all we had hoped for and more!
The bedrooms were large, comfortable and separate enough from one another to offer each family the privacy they wanted. When we weren't playing games (Citadels, Matchi Koro, Survive, 8 Minute Empire, Dixit) in the dining room we hung out in the sun filled great room during the day or by the roaring fire at night. The Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed.
The dogs and we enjoyed walks along the shoreline and romps on the huge lawn in front of the house. The view of the creek from practically every window of the house was beautiful. On clear nights we went outside to marvel at the bounty of stars in the night sky.
Still Pond Creek was frozen over and snow covered the ground during our stay. But we still saw lots of wildlife including - bald eagles, Canada geese, turkey vultures, woodpeckers and deer to name a few. In Summer I can imagine the beach will be a delightful place to play for kids and water loving dogs. And if you have a kayak or canoe, the creek would be so much fun to explore!
We enjoyed a trip into Chestertown on Saturday for the farmer's market (8-noon) in the town square followed by shopping at the excellent local bookstore and then coffee at one of the many cafes. The consignment shops offer some good finds if you enjoy that sort of hunt and the art galleries were nice to explore.
Thank you to the Barrett Family for making their lovely house available to us. We hope to be back!"
