  • Our Cobb Island Waterfront Home vacation

"Our group (age 66-3 months) spent a week at Ed's and Nancy's home at the end of August and found it a delightful relaxing vacation. Everything is "as advertised." The house is just as pictured. It has high quality furnishings, comfortable beds, large TVs, weber gas grill, etc., and a spacious screened in back porch/deck with a great view facing the mouth of the Wicomico River with a view of the Potomac and Virginia coast in the distance. We enjoyed the sunrises with a cup of coffee in the mornings, playing games and puzzles and reading during the day, and waning sunlight in the evenings with margaritas and snacks. My two grandboys - age 5 and 7 spent all day exploring the little beach and swimming with life jackets and floats around the pier and collecting shells and glass. There are a lot of birds to watch - ducks, gulls, geese. There is an osprey nest two lots over and you can watch the ospreys fish and carry their catch to their nest in a pine tree by the river. We got "old chicken-crab bait" at the little market and kept the crab trap loaded all week so that by Friday, we had enough legal crabs to have steam and eat. (In spite of the poor season.) There is no amusement park or boardwalk and the local restaurants are very limited, but there are kayaks to explore the coast and bikes to explore the little island and that beautiful back porch and view. I highly recommend it if it what I have described sounds appealing to you."

  • Gorgeous

"I love this place! I stayed here twice this summer, it is absolutely perfect both for a romantic getaway as well as big family get-togethers. The house is fully stocked and very comfortable, all you have to bring is food. There is a marsh in the back for kayaking and I went a couple of times. It's on a quiet dirt road, lots of bird sounds, friendly neighbors, perfect for completely detaching from a busy lifestyle."

  • Lovely cottage

"The Seahorse is an excellent getaway. The cottage is adorable and comes stocked with everything you need for an escape. We would definitely visit again. Their dog-friendliness is also greatly appreciated."

  • Perfect Bay Beach House, Hands Down

"WOW, that pretty much sums up my impression of this cottage. If you want to be on the sand, with the water right out your door, then this is for you! The cottage was impeccably clean and stocked with pretty much all you need. Quaint neighborhood on a private drive of a dozen homes. We had the beach to ourselves nearly our whole stay. We caught crabs in the creek, and a few small stripers *rockfish* in front of the house. The fact that we could vacation with our Lab and take him swimming on the calm Bay water was priceless. I don't think I could describe the heaven of that screen porch. Spent most of our time there. I do recommend on the drive down, stopping in Lexington Park 13 miles north of the cottage for all of your food/supply needs for your stay. The local town of Ridge does not have much to offer in that department, it's pretty remote! If you are looking for a remote, peaceful, non rushed, refreshing, relaxing stay with the beach and water at your feet, then this is the place you want. The pictures don't really do this place justice. It's a very unique property. Highly Highly recommend and the owners were a dream to work with. As a real estate agent in my state, I know a gem of a property when I see one, and this is it. I'm hoping to come again next year. The only thing we wished we had, was kayaks. We did bring a small boat, an aqua pod, not really made for ocean/bay waters, but kayaks would have been ideal."
