  • Beyond our expectations!

"We rented this house with another family. Four adults and four children. The house and views are simply wonderful. Every floor has balconies with unobstructed view of the beautiful bay. Inside the house is flooded with light all day long. It is beautiful decorated with so much attention to detail. The kitchen is a joy to prepare meals in with a full stocked pantry. There are so many places to be and hang out we were never in each other's way. The kids had a whole floor for themselves. Outside the private beach is perfect. It is shallow for a ways out with a mostly sandy bottom. Our four children were able to swim with no worries of being "swept" out to sea. We spent many days just hanging out in our beach chairs while the kids all played. There are bikes and kayaks for you to use. The bay is very easy to kayak on and the kids had no problems navigating the waters. Overall be had a perfect week! Our one suggestion is to have a gas grill along with the charcoal grill provided. Sometimes with kids, you just want to quickly grill up some hotdogs for lunch and that is a little time consuming with the charcoal grill. So with that the house would be absolutely perfect. We will be back!"

  • Better than a four star hotel!!!

"We love this place. Every amenity is here. From the bath towels to the appliances - everything is very high end. I notice things in a remodel. The owners did an exceptional job keeping the 1930's aura. The moldings, wainscoating and the the little pass through window between the kitchen and living room add so much charm and character. And the house is wonderfully decorated. The furniture and beds are soft, cushy and comfortable. The decor is also wonderful. Every little detail lends the idea this place is very professionally decorated, but in a fun way (I love the fish pillow). It's much more spacious than the photos show. We met the the next door neighbors and some of the towns people - everyone is very friendly. It's awesome to walk out the boardwalk with your morning coffee and enjoy the breeze and sunrise. It's not a bad drive to Annapolis or DC. There are no traffic problems in getting here, either. It's also very quiet at night. A true home away from home!!!"

  • Georgous view, wonderful house!

"Woke up each morning to the sun rising over the water...coffee on the deck(s)...quiet, peaceful setting. The house was totally equipped with everything one could want or need. Plenty of water toys, bikes, etc. Visited Point Lookout, Leonardtown (great bookstore), St. Mary's, Solomons, etc. We had never been to this part of Maryland, but can't wait to return."

  • Relaxing Stay

"Chesabelle is a lovely property and very private. We rode bikes, kayaked and enjoyed the beach. The weather was perfect our week until our last day. My only complaint... there is not much near by to do. We had a 6 year old with us and there is not much for her to do. We did drive to Historic Saint Mary's and we enjoyed that. It is great for school age children. You have to drive at least 30 minutes to get to restaurants. Spinnakers is close by, but my daughter has a seafood allergy and there were not many choices on the menu for her. Suggestions: The rooms need hooks to hang things on and a hammock would be nice. All in all I would recommend it for a peaceful vacation."
