"We rented the Chesabelle for a weekend celebration of my mother's 85th birthday, and it suited us perfectly! As all the other reviews say, this place is in a beautiful settling just across from the Chesapeake Bay, and the house is stylishly decorated (interesting art!) & very clean. It is not advertised as handicapped-accessible, but for those who do not use wheelchairs, should be accessible enough. My mom uses a cane, but the 2 or so steps up into the house were no problem for her. Everything within the house is on a single level. There's a walk-in shower (we have a fold-up shower bench); the commodes are standard, but posed no problems. The place looks small as you drive up, but actually there is a lot of room. Our group consisted of my husband & me, our adult daughter, and my mother. We definitely want to return, adding to the group my son, daughter-in-law, their toddler daughter and dog. Even though it was stormy during our stay, the power of the waves crashing on the shore was mesmerizing, and we truly enjoyed it."

"As soon as we walked into this darling cottage, we loved it! It was cozy but open, there were TWO fenced yards, off street parking... the list goes on! The kitchen had everything including coffee! There was always something new to see, from the artwork to the darling little doorstop in the bathroom, the rustic and clever use of wood and space... the adorable kitchen clock... just fun!
Gary was very nice, helpful, hospitable... we totally enjoyed meeting him!
My only regret was that we did not get to spend more time at the cottage! Our last morning there, we actually got to take a nice walk with our dogs down to the Chesapeake and along the boardwalk. The location is ideal!"

"Very lovely home, very clean, very well stocked. We really enjoyed the week. We were here for a ladies family week and had a little one as well as my elderly mother and it was lovely for them both and everyone in between. We went to the water/beach for stunning sunsets, had dinner at local places, went to St. Mary's City for the museums and a tour, hung out in Solomon's Island...it was relaxing, calm, and entertaining. The house was incredibly well stocked...for cooking & entertainment. The people in the area are incredibly friendly as was Lolly. Highly recommend. We will be back!"

"We had a wonderful extended weekend at Harbor Cottage. Highlights included frequent walks on the beach, strolls by the private marina and an opportunity to watch two bald eagles swooping the water for fish.
The setting feels peaceful, secluded and safe. The cottage was a joy. Both bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds. What is surprising is to have two full bathrooms in a cottage this size. It seems like just about everything you could need has been included. We came well after the summer season and did find some exrra dust on blinds and fans. We found the cottage well equipped with appliances, cleaning supplies and amenities, however we could not find filters for the coffee maker or diswasher liquid. That said, the cottage excels at comforting guests and meeting the interests of all ages.
It is very easy to say that Harbor Cottage is great alternative to staying at hotel and a true "best value" compared to most other cottages. We hope to visit again next year."
