  • Perfectly beautiful house and location

"This is a spot which is really ideal for a quiet vacation with friends and family. The house is lovely and spacious. The property with its setting right on the river couldn't be nicer. The location is also excellent because for all the feeling of peace and solitude, you are still close to shops, beaches, restaurants and interesting state parks so there is plenty to do."

  • Magical week of retreat!

"Our family of 5 loved staying at the Hideaway! A very relaxing and low key cottage-like feel with comfortable and stylish furnishings. Lots to do with the kids...bike, kayak, swim, crab, hike...we did all that and more... but then again, we did lots of just relaxing doing nothing too! Perfect! The property managers were remarkably attentive to our one call to them when we needed some kitchen supplies. Within an hour the items were provided to us! We will definitely return again to vacation in this area and very likely this same home! Thank you for a truly special week!"

  • Perfect Bay Beach House, Hands Down

"WOW, that pretty much sums up my impression of this cottage. If you want to be on the sand, with the water right out your door, then this is for you! The cottage was impeccably clean and stocked with pretty much all you need. Quaint neighborhood on a private drive of a dozen homes. We had the beach to ourselves nearly our whole stay. We caught crabs in the creek, and a few small stripers *rockfish* in front of the house. The fact that we could vacation with our Lab and take him swimming on the calm Bay water was priceless. I don't think I could describe the heaven of that screen porch. Spent most of our time there. I do recommend on the drive down, stopping in Lexington Park 13 miles north of the cottage for all of your food/supply needs for your stay. The local town of Ridge does not have much to offer in that department, it's pretty remote! If you are looking for a remote, peaceful, non rushed, refreshing, relaxing stay with the beach and water at your feet, then this is the place you want. The pictures don't really do this place justice. It's a very unique property. Highly Highly recommend and the owners were a dream to work with. As a real estate agent in my state, I know a gem of a property when I see one, and this is it. I'm hoping to come again next year. The only thing we wished we had, was kayaks. We did bring a small boat, an aqua pod, not really made for ocean/bay waters, but kayaks would have been ideal."

  • Summerlee extended weekend

"The house is perfect for big groups/families and very open living. The beach and beaches with access are very pleasant. We caught crabs in the streams going to the back water areas and also took the kayaks there for some exercise and relaxation. We did ride the bikes and last year took about a 5 mile ride to near by point look out. We have not tried fishig yet but many people do in the area. Mostly we had fun playing games and having each member of the family cook their favorite meal in the kitchen, with a little sooo chef help from siblings... a good place to unwind. Coming and going we visited the small historic towns in the area like the college at St. Mary's... We always bring plenty of food. It is a little bit of a hike to a grocery, but the refrigerator/freezer is huge, throw in acooler or two and you are covered. The beds are all very comfy and there is a fireplace. It was so nice we did not even have a fire this year inside or out. Perfect weather and not a jelly fish in sight. Just Osprey and Blue Crabs..."
