  • Wonderful New Year's 2014

"We just stayed at this house for the week of New Year's and we had the wonderful time. The house is just beautiful! Very spacious and bright. The kitchen is huge and very comfortable, although we didn't really cook much, it was our favorite place to hang out, have drinks and snacks and just enjoy ourselves. The kids were in Paradise with so much space, we all played Hide and Go seek with them and they just had a blast. There is a Brewery within walking distance from the house that has really good Pizza and of course the beer is also great. We liked it so much, we went there a couple of times. Wisp resort is very close, the entrance to the Resort is right down the street from the house. We don't really ski, but we did the snow tubing and the Mountain Coaster and that was super fun. We also went to DC one day which is about 3 hours drive, but left early in the morning and had enough time to visit/see most of the important places around the National Mall. The owner was friendly and attentive, she responded fast to all our questions/requests which we didn't really have many. We were there to have a good time and so we did. Only downside, there was no snow at that time of the year, we were told by many locals that they usually have snow for the end of the year, but not this time. I wish we could go during the Snow months, but the kids have school so that's not an option for now. Hopefully in the future... I would definitely stay there again, same house, wouldn't change a thing."

  • Friends getaway

"Our group of 9 stayed at the Lazy Bear and we loved our stay. The house was great and we loved the fire pit and hot tub. We were secluded enough that we had great privacy but we were also only a few minutes from town. We definately hope to make our stay here an annual thing."

  • 3 day Winter Weekend at Wisp

"We had a great time - the house is wonderful and the driveway sledding topped the cake! As others have said, be sure to bring a few staples (laundry detergent, paper towels, soap, for example) and if your group is large some paper/ plastic products might be helpful too as there aren't a ton of bowls/forks/spoons. Other than that, no complaints at all. The hot tub is super nice after a day on the slopes and the location to Wisp can't be beat. We'll definitely be in touch again next time we visit!"

  • Great Place to Get Away from it All!

"My husband and I arrived on 9/5/14 and were quickly joined by three other couples for our annual get-away weekend. The house is actually smaller than the pictures make it appear, but it is very well laid out and comfortable for four couples - each couple had their own bath, which is a very nice perk! House is beautifully decorated with lots of obviously local crafts/artwork. The kitchen is fully equipped with a very nice set of potware and a large amount of plate and glassware - more than needed. Another nice feature was the fact that the house already had basic cleaning materials and trash bags (even though we'd come prepared, was still a nice thing to see!). Bedrooms and bedding (including the linens) were very nice and clean - again a very nice thing! Only drawback (and it's really not a huge one) is that there are some very nice throw rugs/runners in the main area of the house that really should be secured with the anti slip matting - we actually ended up removing and storing them until the end of our stay for the safety of one of our party. Overall we were very impressed with the house and would consider re-renting it if it met the needs of our trip."
