Skippers Point Cabin
I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was clean.
The property manager was very helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
This was our 2nd stay at the cabin. In the 2 years, the place has sustained some wear, but it's still a great place that I will return to. The inside is furnished well and warm and cozy. If there are more than 2 people, you will run out of plates/wine glasses after each meal and much of the outside furniture has been broken and is in short supply. Both easy fixes! The place is clean in the important areas (sinks, showers, toilets, floors, beds) but could use some attention to window sills, stovetop, corners. Awesome walk to the lake and a great little community beach on the water!"

"We just stayed at this house for the week of New Year's and we had the wonderful time. The house is just beautiful! Very spacious and bright. The kitchen is huge and very comfortable, although we didn't really cook much, it was our favorite place to hang out, have drinks and snacks and just enjoy ourselves. The kids were in Paradise with so much space, we all played Hide and Go seek with them and they just had a blast. There is a Brewery within walking distance from the house that has really good Pizza and of course the beer is also great. We liked it so much, we went there a couple of times. Wisp resort is very close, the entrance to the Resort is right down the street from the house. We don't really ski, but we did the snow tubing and the Mountain Coaster and that was super fun. We also went to DC one day which is about 3 hours drive, but left early in the morning and had enough time to visit/see most of the important places around the National Mall. The owner was friendly and attentive, she responded fast to all our questions/requests which we didn't really have many. We were there to have a good time and so we did. Only downside, there was no snow at that time of the year, we were told by many locals that they usually have snow for the end of the year, but not this time. I wish we could go during the Snow months, but the kids have school so that's not an option for now. Hopefully in the future... I would definitely stay there again, same house, wouldn't change a thing."

"Our family of 12 from 10 months to 71 enjoyed every moment in this lovely, immaculate house. We really felt as though we were visiting a friend's home that we had been to before as it is so welcoming and comfortable. The living room/dining and kitchen area with the fabulous view afforded many hours of talking, reading, playing games, watching movies. The den downstairs was great for the young ones with the games, books and pool table. The two porches were much enjoyed with dinners cooked on the grill and play time on the lower deck. It was wonderful to be able to take a short walk to a nearby beach with boat rentals and a playground. The drive to the Deep Creek Lake beach was under 5 minutes. Stores were close by. Our family loved the house and the area and look forward to returning."

Fun-Filled, Relaxing Retreat on Top of the Mountain
"Just returned from a wonderful week of vacation in DCL at Rick's house. I honestly can't say enough great things about this house and I echo everyone else's comments about how "all-inclusive" of a house it is!
We were 3 families with 6 adults and 6 kids (aged 5-11) and were 1st time visitors to Deep Creek. We arrived at 3pm and had no problem using the keyless entry. The first thing you are greeted by is a beautiful, clean smell...and the awesome arcade. The indoor pool was clean and big enough for everyone (and has a convenient door alarm). We all did nightly s'mores around the fire pit and enjoyed the hot tub as well (too warm in the summer for the sauna but I'm sure it rocks in the winter!). The beds really are comfortable and as Rick states in his info, the sheets are a really great quality. There were ample bathrooms (one in each bedroom) and even 2 on the main floor. The kitchen was absolutely beautiful and well-stocked...the floor-to-ceiling sliding windows overlooking the lake were gorgeous and the adults had morning coffee every morning outside.
It is a very quiet and serene setting with birds chirping every morning. And even though we had absolutely great weather (NO RAIN!), I'm sure we would have been completely entertained if we had been house-bound (SO many movies), to boot!
If you have never been to this area, I'd recommend definitely eating at Archie's BBQ at least once (met the owner...who knows Rick...great food), visiting Swallow Falls (waterfalls and hiking) and boating the Lake and docking at the Honi Honi bar for some live music and drinks and treats for the kids. (NOTE: DO NOT rent from Deep Creek Lake Boat Rentals!!! The owner is shady and rude. Not only did our boat stall 4 times and we had to wait for help while our boat drifted in the open with no anchor (they wouldn't give us one), but we were given a boat with a gas gauge that said "1/2 full" - which were told was incorrect and was actually full - and after we put $100 worth of gas in it, we had to fight for some $$$ back). Go to Bills Marine. But I digress...
Rick obviously puts a lot of care and attention into his homes and it shows. Our kids didn't say they were "bored" ONE time the whole week. We barely SAW them between the arcade, the pool and the VERY popular mini golf course!
If you compare pix from other properties, you can see how well-appointed his place is.
I would recommend this place to ANYONE!!! Thanks for a WONDERFUL vaca Rick!"
