"We so enjoyed the lakeside cottage over the 4th of July! We must've taken the paddleboat out a million times! and the badminton was a great bonus. The back deck with it's fireplace and gorgeous view was exactly what we needed. Great DVD selection too (if you're into horror movies)! It was a little hard to find, and you might want to bring some of your own cooking supplies there were also some issues with the oven not functioning very well. But those didn't dampen our lovely time we spent there. Absolutely gorgeous area, we recommend it!"

"Overall, my family was very happy with this cabin, including most importantly, my wife. I agree with other reviews. Fire pit is a big asset. Cabin was good for my children as well. A few comments that others did not touch on. Enough toys (nerf guns and puzzles quickly come to mind) on the premises to keep them excited and enough space outside to run around, chiefly in circles around the cabin. Donna's written directions on the operation of the cabin were excellent. My only complaints were that cabin was a little short, but not much to be done about that. Not that I was hitting my head, just that I would have liked a little more clearance above my 6'1" frame. Most people would not have been bothered by that. Also, cabin was also a little too full of amenities for my taste. I like to put my clothes in dresser upon arrival. There was no room in dressers because it was used for storage. Perhaps the items in storage would be useful to others and that would be a plus. In the scheme of things, my minor complaints are just that, minor. I would recommend this cabin and would go there again. Lake was clean and beautiful. I am giving it a five because the most important things--cleanliness, responsiveness, return of security deposit, seclusion--were all there."

"The cottage was fantastic. As soon as we walked in the door (tired around 11 pm) we were immediately filled with excitement. The cottage is incredibly adorable. It is rustic, cozy, and clean all at the same time. Rejuvenated and excited to start enjoying our vacation, we decided to walk down to check out the dock even though it was dark. We couldn't see very much of the lake at the time of night, but then we looked up and were captivated by the blanket of stars. We spent nearly an hour just laying out on the dock watching the sky and pointing out shooting starts.
The lake is small, but very clean and calm. We had a great time swimming and pedaling around. Also the neighbors are very kind and welcoming. Of course Jacob's Pillow was great, but if you want a seat at the Inside/Out free performance I'd recommend getting there early. However, even if you don't get a seat, the performance is only about half and hour. After Jacob's Pillow we enjoyed cooking outside and sitting by the fire.
Check-out is at 11, but we weren't quite ready to go home, so we found Camp Overflow about 20 minutes away, where we rented kayaks for a few hours. The camp is on a very large and beautiful reservoir. However, there are a lot of motorboats on the water, which made us a little nervous at first but then we came to enjoy the ride of the wakes. If you're looking for canoe/kayak rentals Camp Overflow is closer and less expansive than Onota Boat Liver.
Bottom line, we had a great, peaceful, but active stay. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer."

"The house itself is just as described - clean, comfortable, well-equipped, nicely furnished, etc. But if you arrive on a hot summer night, as we did, it is very hard to enjoy the beautiful house or views with the near constant rush of traffic (average of 5 cars and one tractor-trailer per minute) on US Route 20 only 75 feet away. Out on the deck, we found it nearly impossible to hold conversations and inside was not much better with the windows open. (Only the bedrooms are air-conditioned.) And when the traffic on Route 20 eventually slowed a bit, there was the constant drone of traffic from the Mass Pike just across the small pond. Every member of our family likes to sleep with an open window but that was nearly impossible here, even in the back bedrooms.
This is not meant as a complaint, as I probably could have guessed at this issue based on the location; rather, it is just information for other summer travelers who feel the same way about having to constantly hear traffic while they are trying to relax. Our solution was to spend less time in the house than we might have otherwise and, while in the house, to enjoy the karaoke and drown out the traffic. And good earplugs at night.
Despite the noise, we were able to have a good time, which says a lot for the good qualities of the house."
