"We spent two weeks at Silvernail Farm with our 5 yr old and 3 yr old and made some memories that we will not soon forget! This home is beautifully decorated, comfortable, welcoming, spotless, and really well set up for a family with children (e.g. outdoor play toys, a game closet full of puzzles and board games, a chest full of kids' DVDs). My most favorite things about this house is the large rectangular window right above the kitchen sink that provides a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery, and the hammock in the yard. The children played outside all day in the sandbox, the play structure, and on the tree swings. We used the grill to make dinner, and took advantage of the few rainy days to watch movies as a family. The house is extremely well situated to all the wonderful amenities of the Berkshires. We were able to attend multiple concerts at Tanglewood, as well as a show at Jacob's Pillow, and the Clark Art Institute. This house is a gem, and we are already making plans to return this Fall and next summer!"

"We were very pleased with the charm of this lovely house right on Lake Garfield. The new blonde pine panelling was not only bright and clean, but it permeated the house with the lovely aroma of pine. The living room/kitchen area boasted windows on 3 sides giving glorious views of the lake. The house is clean and decorated in a cozy fashion, and the large deck was a joy early in the morning for that first cup of tea and throughout the day in either shade or sun. There were many bird feeders hanging on the porch and trees and we saw a great many birds. Lake Garfield is very beautiful and my family used the 2 kayaks and the canoe to explore it. This part of the lake is in a 5-mile an hour, no wake zone and was quiet and beautiful even when the lake was busier with boats. There is a beach directly across the lake from the house for swimming. The owner is very pleasant and he called after we had settled in to make sure that we had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay at this house and would definitely stay there again."

"This was our first time in the Berkshires, and it definitely won't our last. This cottage was perfectly comfortable for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids. The bunk beds were a big hit. The yard is huge with a play structure, and we roasted smores almost every night. Craig responded quickly to our questions, and kept us posted with updates during our stay. We will definitely consider returning.
great location (very close to Tanglewood, Lenox town center, grocery and liquor stores, athletic club)
very close to the lake access (a couple of hundred feet away). The lake access is not big, but was hardly ever anyone else there, so it felt almost private. The lake is beautiful. There is a larger beach a long walk away, but it wasn't much better than the private beach.
Cons (these are for planning purposes, and were not major issues for us):
Close to train tracks. Freight trains came by every hour or two.
Kitchen has basic utensils and cookware, but it's not stocked with food staples. Definitely bring your own essentials (e.g. high quality knives), if cooking is your thing."

"We spent our family vacation here this summer and we had an absolutely fantastic time. My little kids had a blast swimming both in the big pool and the hot tub, which was actually a wonderful way to get in the water on a cool morning. The bedrooms were great, including tons of bathrooms, most connected to the rooms themselves. The porches are outstanding; not only did we play board games on the screened in porch until all hours but we sat on the open decks watching blasting thunderstorms over the lake and an incredible meteor shower late into the night. The kitchen was great and bar area were perfect, and there were so many spices and extras stocked in the pantry that we didn't have to run out for every little thing.
Jeff, the owner is pleasant and easy going to deal with, and really just made the vacation so relaxing and stress free. We would definitely recommend this house for a wonderful vacation in the Berkshires."
