"Spent a week with my family and my dog at this beautiful lakeside home. We have been renting in the area for many years. This was the best by far.
The house is right on Lake Garfield. There is a dock for boating and swimming and it's a great place to take a swim. The house is on a quiet cove on the lake. Great spot to fish or bird watching.
The porch is outrageous. What a pleasure to go outside in the morning and enjoy the lake views and watch the birds at the many feeders. The perfect spot for coffee. We also used the gas grill often and loved having a fire pit.
The inside was very clean and comfortable. The beds were fine and the air conditioning was a big plus. The kitchen is fully stocked.
The location is excellent. Maybe a mile to town and the general store with it's delicious baked goods.
A short drive to Great Barrington, Lenox and Lee. Many good restaurants in the area and plenty of places to enjoy nature.
We loved this house and I will gladly rent it again in the future."

"My spouse and I had high expectations for this cottage and Moore cottage exceeded them. The cottage's design really compliments the beauty of the area and lake. There are many vantage points in which to view the lake: inside the cottage from all three floors and especially from the two separate outdoor decks and a private dock-all at different levels or heights. The three floors of the cottage all have a spacious view of the lake. We were there for one week at the busy time of summer yet this spot felt very private. The swimming and boating (canoe and kayak) were very pleasant, no weeds. We enjoyed this magical spot so much we rarely left the cottage for the many surrounding events, restaurants, shopping, etc. We also took walks around the area which was pleasant with dirt roads in a wooded area. Sandra was incredibly helpful, warm and displayed a generous attitude throughout our interactions (e.g., with restaurant tips and went above and beyond even helping us retrieve an forgotten item). Also at the cottage there was a helpful guidebook the owners put together and the cottage was well stocked with all household basics and more. We would definitely return to Moore Cottage and letting our friends about this gem. We absolutely adored the whole experience of Moore Cottage."

"This is a beautiful, well appointed home privately situated on three acres. The owner, Maria Reveley, was extremely helpful and supportive. She met us at the home for our arrival, gave us a lovely bottle of wine, and pointed us to a couple places to visit locally that were real winners. We ate on the patio just outside the kitchen for many meals. The home literally sits on the border of the Beartown Mountain Preserve, and as hikers, we were able to access nearby trailheads in the preserve with ease. Although the home is in the little town of Monterey, with its quaint General Store, we were able to make easy day trips to Tanglewood, the Inn on the Green in Marlborough, the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, the Clark Institute Museum in Williamstown, Kripalu in Lenox, and the restaurants and shops of Great Barrington. Given the price we paid for our week, and the wonderful features of the house, with four big skylights in the upstairs Queen Bedroom we used, we felt we got super value for money! We are already talking about renting the home again."

"What an amazing week we had on lake Garfield! The house was as described. The dock and lake were just spectacular. Having canoes, kayaks and paddle boards all available made it all the better.
We have kids, and the house was stocked with lots of toys they could play with, movies to watch on a rainy day, and generally everything we needed.
Like a previous reviewer, an appliance broke for our stay (the washing machine), and the owners handled it as well as possibly getting the machine replaced quickly.
The area is also truly spectacular. Small farms, fresh vegetables and the great Monterey General Store. Hope we can make it back soon!"
