"We had a great time here for a couple families celebrating fourth of July. There were 8 of us in total - 4 adults and 4 children - and the house was more than enough space, beautifully furnished, and in a great location about 75 yards off the lake. Dina was a gracious hostess and made sure the house was immaculate before we arrived. We swam from the dock and small beach next to the property (although the lake is fairly weedy), canoed and kayaked, roasted marshmallows in the firepit, grilled, and did a daytrip to Tanglewood for a family concert. Highly recommended for a relaxed family weekend. Thanks for hosting us."

"We stayed in this special house for a long weekend in June while we attended a wedding in Monterey. The place is very beautiful, with large windows overlooking the lake. The kitchen is really charming, and well equipped. There is a dock that leads right out from the house to the lake. We felt like we were in a magical hideaway. The main bedroom is big and bright; the two little bedrooms are meant for kids, but we had an adult sleep in each bed, and it was comfortable. There is no internet, but our at&t phones worked just fine, and we went to the nearby general store when we needed to use our computers. We were nice and warm at night. The shower worked well. We recommend this place fully!"

"This is a beautiful, well appointed home privately situated on three acres. The owner, Maria Reveley, was extremely helpful and supportive. She met us at the home for our arrival, gave us a lovely bottle of wine, and pointed us to a couple places to visit locally that were real winners. We ate on the patio just outside the kitchen for many meals. The home literally sits on the border of the Beartown Mountain Preserve, and as hikers, we were able to access nearby trailheads in the preserve with ease. Although the home is in the little town of Monterey, with its quaint General Store, we were able to make easy day trips to Tanglewood, the Inn on the Green in Marlborough, the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, the Clark Institute Museum in Williamstown, Kripalu in Lenox, and the restaurants and shops of Great Barrington. Given the price we paid for our week, and the wonderful features of the house, with four big skylights in the upstairs Queen Bedroom we used, we felt we got super value for money! We are already talking about renting the home again."

"What an amazing week we had on lake Garfield! The house was as described. The dock and lake were just spectacular. Having canoes, kayaks and paddle boards all available made it all the better.
We have kids, and the house was stocked with lots of toys they could play with, movies to watch on a rainy day, and generally everything we needed.
Like a previous reviewer, an appliance broke for our stay (the washing machine), and the owners handled it as well as possibly getting the machine replaced quickly.
The area is also truly spectacular. Small farms, fresh vegetables and the great Monterey General Store. Hope we can make it back soon!"
