"We enjoyed our stay immensely at this lovely home in Monterey,Ma. on Lake Garfield. The owner seemed to think of everything possible to help us fully enjoy our vacation. This home had an abundance of useful appliances in the kitchen and we also enjoyed the spacious dining room and living room. The home was spotless and well stocked. The screened in porch was great as was the outside porch. The sunset over the lake was breathtaking and we enjoyed canoeing on the lake and also the fishing and swimming. We also enjoyed the landscaping and beautiful plants and flowers on the property. As you can see, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home and are looking forward to returning!"

"This is a beautiful, well appointed home privately situated on three acres. The owner, Maria Reveley, was extremely helpful and supportive. She met us at the home for our arrival, gave us a lovely bottle of wine, and pointed us to a couple places to visit locally that were real winners. We ate on the patio just outside the kitchen for many meals. The home literally sits on the border of the Beartown Mountain Preserve, and as hikers, we were able to access nearby trailheads in the preserve with ease. Although the home is in the little town of Monterey, with its quaint General Store, we were able to make easy day trips to Tanglewood, the Inn on the Green in Marlborough, the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, the Clark Institute Museum in Williamstown, Kripalu in Lenox, and the restaurants and shops of Great Barrington. Given the price we paid for our week, and the wonderful features of the house, with four big skylights in the upstairs Queen Bedroom we used, we felt we got super value for money! We are already talking about renting the home again."

"We were very pleased with the charm of this lovely house right on Lake Garfield. The new blonde pine panelling was not only bright and clean, but it permeated the house with the lovely aroma of pine. The living room/kitchen area boasted windows on 3 sides giving glorious views of the lake. The house is clean and decorated in a cozy fashion, and the large deck was a joy early in the morning for that first cup of tea and throughout the day in either shade or sun. There were many bird feeders hanging on the porch and trees and we saw a great many birds. Lake Garfield is very beautiful and my family used the 2 kayaks and the canoe to explore it. This part of the lake is in a 5-mile an hour, no wake zone and was quiet and beautiful even when the lake was busier with boats. There is a beach directly across the lake from the house for swimming. The owner is very pleasant and he called after we had settled in to make sure that we had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay at this house and would definitely stay there again."

"What an amazing week we had on lake Garfield! The house was as described. The dock and lake were just spectacular. Having canoes, kayaks and paddle boards all available made it all the better.
We have kids, and the house was stocked with lots of toys they could play with, movies to watch on a rainy day, and generally everything we needed.
Like a previous reviewer, an appliance broke for our stay (the washing machine), and the owners handled it as well as possibly getting the machine replaced quickly.
The area is also truly spectacular. Small farms, fresh vegetables and the great Monterey General Store. Hope we can make it back soon!"
