"Situated just acros a very busy (and noisy) Rt. 7 from Williams College, this was an excellent location from which to base excursions to various cultural experiences in the Berkshires. The Wiliamstown Theatre Festival (based in the Willams College Theatre) was a five minute walk across the street, the Clark Art Institute a fifteen minute walk down Rt. 7, the Bennington VT Music Festival (chamber music) was a twenty minute drive and Tanglewood approximately forty-five minutes to an hour drive. The house itself was simple and adequate (a bit dusty and cob-webby when we arrived) with a large fenced-in back yard which was great for our dog, a fully equipped kitchen and generally comfortable living quarters. A couple of quibbles: many light bulbs were burned out upon our arrival (which we replaced from the house store room supply) and the one bed that could accommodate my 6'4" height was "cratered" from what appeared to be an unsupported bed frame. Otherwise, it served our needs well for the week."

"I have lived in Country Bungalow for six months. One is instantly at home in its comfortable surroundings and warm ambiance. Views are indescribably breathtaking from the splendid winter panorama to the burst of spring with a field of daffodils and fruit trees resplendent in blossom. Cows make great neighbors.
The house is fully equipped in every way.
I was reluctant to live on a dirt road in winter but have to say that every morning the DPW had the road plowed and sanded before I left the house. It is graded in the spring. A large, thick hedge shields the house from the road.
Carl is the best landlord, always "there" for his tenants but never intrusive.
I long to return to Country Bungalow."

A panacea to the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. It's tranquility and serenity will amaze.
"The tree house is a work of art both inside and out. We had privacy yet were close to restaurants; grocery stores etc and all the good things the Berkshires has to offer. The house is accurately represented, however, it looks better in person. So Zen. The owners are an absolute pleasure, thoughtful, organized and very responsive. There is a list of people that can be contacted in case we should have needed anything..which we did not. It's footage on paper may seem relatively small...yet once in...it feels beautifully spacious. The pod is Immaculate. It's simple yet stylish. Comfortable. The beds are comfy. Everything needed is provided with thoughtfully placed touches of luxury.
My husband and two 11 year olds went with our dog and had plenty of room. This a special place, it gave us an opportunity to get back in touch with nature and leave the chaos of the rat race behind. Each morning, we awoke and each evening we went to bed with the view of tree tops, the singing of birds and the sweet gurgling of a sweet stream just feet away from the bedrooms. Absolutely enthralling.
We enrolled our children at Hi Rock Camp for two weeks...an idea I got from a previous reviewer...which they loved! While our children were busy canoeing and horseback riding, my husband and I got to spend time relaxing. The internet service is fast and reliable - the GB's are limited yet within reason for regular internet use. For my husband and I...that was the best part...being able to spend our time with our family without the lure of the usual distractions.
To the owners, thank you for your lovely hospitality and for sharing your unique & amazing home with us! We hope very much to return."

"We’re already looking forward to our next visit! Thank you for sharing your WONDERFUL cabin with us. It was like having our own private park in the Berkshires. Next time we’ll bring our two dogs. Even if they can’t quite appreciate the bright and airy cathedral ceiling and charming balcony the way we did, we know they’ll enjoy the pleasant walk to the ponds, and the other trails, too, just as much as the water itself. Thanks again for your hospitality; we had a great time!"
